Halloween - Witches Night

Hi all, just popping on to quickly add this tag I did for Our Creative Corner Challenge Blog which is Halloween tag with texture.  I thought it finished tomorrow but it's in about 15 mins eek lol.
I would also like to enter my tag into the following challenge -
Simon Says Monday Challenge - Anything Goes

I had the other half of the hat that I used
on the canvas the other day so I decided to have a go at
a smaller version (large tag).
I also changed the colour as well and I'm
quite pleased with the background, lots of layers :-)
I tried the witches face in purple, then red, but green was
best, then I needed a purple for her make up but
I wanted to use DP so mixed dusty concord with black to get this
really nice deep shade of purple.

You can really see the background here, lots of DP, dylusion sprays and cosmic
shimmer sprays made up the background.

This was the best picture to show the cosmic shimmer spray as reflection
from the moon.

Lots of grunge paste in the corner plus what the skeletons are
standing on.

I have to admit I really do love the purple and think
that they make her look spooky enough :-)

Right I better go and link up, next time maybe I should check when the challenge finishes lol.  I shall pop back on here to pop the products I used on when I clear my desk to work out what I used lol lol.
Happy Crafting :-)
Hugs

Skeletons dance to the Witches

Hi all, wow what a mad couple of days, our Internet kept playing up and every time I wanted to do a post it kept glitching.  Then it completely went and we had no internet at all for over a day, as it was we got an appointment for NTL which was two weeks and I thought Oh no what will I do lol, then my other half remembered seeing an NTL bloke at the box in front of our house, reckon he was fixing someones down the street, so my other half decided to go and have a quick look and it looks like ours had been knocked which is why it was glitching, then finally fell out and leaving us with no internet.  Then I think we all went mad today on the Internet when it crashed this evening grrrrrrr but thankfully it's back on.  I have so many posts to do lol, it will take a few days to catch up.
So my first post is for That Craft Place Challenge Blog which is Halloween plus we are looking for new DT, please go and apply, we really want some more grungy inky painty crafters and it's only once a fortnight and the team is great :-)
I would like to enter my creation into the following challenges -
Frilly and Funkie Challenge Blog - What's your poison - must include green and black no orange
Country View Craft Challenge - Something Spooky

I wanted it to look like the skeletons were dancing for and
praising the witch, hope it comes accross that way :-)

I cut the mini halloween hat in half, painted it with DP and then
sprayed Cosmic Shimmer mist all over it, I love how it seems to shine.

The background was made up of DP and Cosmic Shimmer mist and misting
sprays, then I used a spray varnish all over it.  This meant when I did the moon the
pearl shimmer just layed on top giving the vivid pearl white spots.  The
moon was DP with the spray over which when mixed with the DP left areas
that you could see the blue through leaving a weird but gorgeous moon.
Also I added grunge paste in areas to give lots of texture, they were covered
in DP paint then I used Treasure Gold over them, I also used the TG over
the plastic spiders and all the sides.
I stamped some bats on the moon, then used DP dripped down from the moon
as if the moon was bleeding.

You can see the background better here, I also used cosmic shimmer silk
glitter, which was super gorgeous, and Distress glitter.  To give
some texture when the background was wet I used micro beads
and then when the background was dry I brushed them off leaving
intense areas in some places.  The skeletons were stamped with DP.

Another shot of the texture and the background.

My favourite has to be the witch, I covered some tissue with
DP paint and mixing in some mica powders for the last layer for a slight glow.
I then stamped her face and then started decorating her face in areas.
I used a mini web stamp and DP for her I lids, and a larger cobweb and
spider on her cheek.  I also did some doodling.
Her hair is some Halloween spider web that I got from the supermarket
a few years ago, I took a bit then coloured it with colorwash and some
cosmic shimmer mist.  I left it too soak for 2hrs but it was still not dry
I think that the synthetic part wouldn't let it soak much so I had
to mop up the rest and then dry it.  It's not as dark as I like but
I love it now as it seems to glow with the whole face and background.
The spiders also came with the web and I used Treasure Gold over them.

Right I better be off, back tomorrow with more posts (pretty please let the internet stay on lol).
Happy Crafting

WOYWW 229

Hi ya, late again lol.  I'm going to be really quick this evening, obviously you know about my brother-in-law dying, so it has been an upsetting week.  I always feel close to my sister and even though there are 18 years between us with no one in the middle, I feel such connection with her that I really found it tough to do much over the last week, I'm really sorry I haven't visited many this week again but now, which I know sounds terrible, but things are getting back to normal.
So it's Wednesday and it's time for the amazing Whats On Your Workdesk Wednesday were all us crafters share our desks and mine has something really special on it this week :-)
As you know I am now on the Creative Expressions DT and today we got to visit there to learn all about their products and wow it was amazing.  I feel so lucky and still sometimes want to pinch myself as I think I'm dreaming.  I have lots of goodies on my desk this week and over the next couple of weeks I am going to show you closer pictures and how the products works.  But today of course it's just what's on my desk :-)

When I was going to take a picture of my desk it was clear
ready for a new start in the morning and then
I came back with all this, my DT package, wow I couldn't believe it.
And the project on there is the one I made for my application which I will
share more closely over the next few days :-)

The bits at the front of the desk is what I bought today and wow
that's alot of bits to sort in the morning lol
Oh and meet Jasmine my dog, she is 12 bless her and
loves to sit near me especially in the evenings.   You can also see
on the floor where she is malting, I have to hoover everyday twice at the
moment or I could make a few dogs.  Shame dogs don't need wigs as I could
make a few thousand at the moment.  She has never malted this much.
Also you can see some pink on the floor where I forgot to use my box to spray lol
(I have quite a few colours on my floor from paints etc)

And this is my mega dumping desk, some bits I have covered as they
are DT pieces.  Oh my goodness I really have a lot to
sort in the morning.  I am off work now for 10 days now so
I have lots of time to play (well almost 10 days, I have to do the payroll as
everyone wants paying lol)

Thank you all for your lovely comments last week, it was a rough time, I know I posted woyww last week but then it started to hit me and as you know I sort of had a few days break from crafting.  I can't wait to make a start tomorrow.
Happy Woyww
Lots of hugs

Time for Crimbo!!!!

Hi all, eeeek it's that time to start making Crimbo Cards!! lol, I have done this card for my GD piece over at C.R.A.F.T. Challenge Blog and the challenge this week is Christmas.  I thoroughly enjoyed colouring this image from Bugaboo with my promarkers, it's ages since I have done some colouring but I have a feeling you will see a few more as I start the process of cards for crimbo.  The best thing about colouring is I can do it while I'm on the sofa if the pain in my back gets too much where as I think I should leave the sprays/paint/ink in the craft room!!!! I like my sofa the colour it is lol lol lol :-)

WOYWW 228

Hi all, yep it's Wednesday just lol which means it's time for all of us crafters to share our desk over at WOYWW.  I'm late again this evening, it's been an hectic week with work and other bits and bobs.  Also it's been an upsetting week with my nephews Dad who died from his battle with cancer yesterday :-(.  My sister and I are really close and even though she was divorced and is with a new partner obviously it's still been upsetting for all of us.  He lived in Ireland and the lads knew he had cancer but he never wanted to bother them so said everything was great except last week they got a call to say go over as he was really poorly.  They said what they needed to say and spent some time with him, then sorted everything out that their dad wanted them to do, came back on Saturday, and yesterday they got the call that he had died.  My nephews are Simon 35, Daryll 26 and Sean 17, they go back tomorrow with my sister for the funeral on Friday.  I feel so devastated for them all especially Simon as he is working in China and couldn't get back in time, how sad. He did manage to speak with his dad over skype but yesterday Vicky said that Simon was gutted, he couldn't speak to anyone, it must have been the hardest thing for my sister to do and she can't go and hug him, my heart really goes out to him.  I lost my dad when I was 5, and even though I was young I can remember everything, especially the day of the funeral as mum thought it was best to go so left me with friends at the hotel where the wake was going to be, I still remember that.
So anyway I am truly sorry I haven't had time to visit many people this week but will hopefully get around you over the next few days :-)
The card is for the GD post tomorrow over at C.R.A.F.T challenge
(hence why it's turned over lol!!!!)
as I am guest designer for the month. Working
with digis has been challenging lol, but this one I enjoyed as I
I haven't done many in awhile and I relaxed on the sofa and coloured in with
my promarkers.  I am still a inky painty girl lol but I definitely
think they might be the odd coloured image keep popping up especially
christmas ones lol.

I just managed to blog this as  I had to make some changes as the challenge was called think pink, but we had an email to say we can't use it as it's a trade name which is copyrighted.  I had made a pink ribbon out of clay and stamped into it but I have had to remove it as we think if it's not bought we might not be able to use it.  We are waiting to find out but I took it off anyway.  Lisa at the shop had been doing fund-raising hence why we picked the challenge, but I guess I understand why we haven't been able to use it, they were nice
and sent a nice email explaining.  I found this hard to do as obviously with
family being very close to cancer but also a work mate is off work having
chemo for breast cancer and my personal assistant at work fought it and won
a couple of years ago.
As you can see not much else has changed on here :-)

Yes I thought I would take a picture of bits to sort, my poor
stencils/masks have no place to live at the moment, I use them loads
so trying to find somewhere near my desk to home them, but sorting has
stopped for the moment.  Plus all my 12by12 christmas paper and other bits.
Need to sort out my crimbo bits so I can get on with using them lol
I am determined this year to not buy crimbo cards and definitely
be more prepared :-)

This is where I have been putting bits that so need to be found
a home as well on some wall etc.
.
EEK better go and link as it's a minute to Thursday!!!! Shall be back in morning with another post.
Hope you have a fantastic week, and hope all is well with you and your families.
Lots of Hugs :-)
Happy Woyww

An Angel to Watch over you :-)

Hi ya, sorry  this should have been up on Sunday, but ended up going out all day as the kids were out with their dad and stepmum so I completely forgot oops.  So it's time for a new challenge over at That Craft Place Challenge Blog which is Colour Pink.  I have also done a bit of a step by step as I did this large tag :-)
I would like to enter the following challenges -
Fashionable Stamping Challenge Blog - Stencils or masks (angel mask)
Craft Your Passion Challenge Blog - Add some embossing (I used an embossing folder on the bottom of the tag and heat embossing on the leaves and edges.

The stencil is from That Craft Place Shop which have started
doing their own masks, stamps etc.  Isn't the angel beautiful.
I started with the stencil, a large tag and distress paint white.

Next I dabbed the paint on a piece of foam pad and tapped lightly,
I did two coats.

I then used a scrip stamp with the paint and stamped all over the tag.
I also stamped over the angel, because she was dry you can use a
baby wipe to carefully wipe it off the paint.

Next I used distress stains and added them to a spritzer bottle.

Then lots of spritzes, I also mopped up the seepage ink with some ribbon
and a flower.

Next I mixed some perfect pearl mists with some water in a spritzer then spritzed.
(lots of spritzes going on lol)

Next I used the same inkpads at the stains and added it to the tag.

Then more spritzing with water to get some lovely splodges

Then I took some Tim Holtz tissue wrap and die cut them then added the
spritzing of stains and perfect pearls.
And then ...........  I learned the sparkling blingy leaves from Tammy Tutterow called
jeweled leaves, so pop on over their and have a look, seriously her
tutorials every Tuesday are amazing and she works with
most of Tim Holtz products all the time and is a designer with Sizzix.

Then I spritzed the mat with the stains and picked some up with the card for
the words background, plus added some more to the ribbon in places
I missed earlier.

Next I used an embossing folder for the bottom of the tag.

Then rubbed treasure gold on top with a piece of thingy (brain gone can't
think what they are called!!!!)
I also when I did the jeweled leaves I added UTEE around the tag edges.
Then pop the flowers on, the top flower was altered with the ink from
earlier, the rest were bought ones that I'm trying to use up as I have
hundreds!!!

Right I better be off as I have another post to do for woyww, plus another post to do and then another post for Friday so busy busy busy lol.
Thank you so much for visiting
Hugs :-)

Scary Halloween

Hi all, it's time for another post as part of my Guest Designer month over at C.R.A.F.T. Challenge Blog and this week the challenge is Autumn/Halloween/Thanksgiving and I decided to go with Halloween.  I have to admit I am struggling working with digis, but I have done a step by step for this weeks challenge so I hope you learn something new :-)
I would like to enter the following challenges -
City Crafter Challenge Blog - Trick or Treat
Crafty Catz Challenge Blog -  Halloween
Crazy 4 Challenges Challenge Blog - Halloween

Still not over happy with it because of the
way I have put the digi stamp in the middle, it didn't quite
disappear like I wanted it to lol
The first few photos are close ups and then the rest
are the step by step, it's quite easy to do and the whole thing is completely
flat :-)

I have used the back of a canvas board, reason for this
is, on the front I had done the first steps but had put paper down first,
well when it got to the sanding it ripped terribly so I ended up starting again :-)

The bottom layer needs to be quite a thick coat so when your
sending you won't sand all the way to the board.

When dry add the next colour, thick in places and thin in other areas,
this means that when your sanding, when you get to the thick green
areas, chances are you won't carry on sanding further as the green is thick,
well that is the theory!!!!

Next colour thinly but in a few areas a bit thicker

Last colour black, but all of this wants to be a thin coat.

Next start sanding, it will be rather a touch job but it's worth it.
In some areas you may get to the brown board, but you just cover that over
with some black when your finished.

As you can see in some areas the board shown at the sides so
I covered it up with black.
Don't you just love that background.

Next I printed my digi stamp, I printed first on copy paper, then
went again with tissue stuck over the area that would be printed,
when I do this I use tape on the top and bottom and I use an inkjet printer.
Using tape in a laserjet, it can ruin the printer as these use heat
and well, lets just say that we have both and I learned the hard
way, luckily my OH was able to take it apart and get rid
of the melted tape!!!

Next I painted the back of the tissue tape

I put a layer of modpodge on my background

I stuck the tissue on top then went over all the background with modpodge

Last but not least, get your back ground paints (apart from black)
and start stamping.  Because of all the layers you wouldn't believe that it's all flat.
Also the colours seem to glow and jump off the background.

Don't forget to go over the tissue with some stamping to blend it all in.

Right I better go, sorry this should have been up yesterday evening but I'm afraid my computer seemed to have issues again last night grrrrr.  Going to do more virus scans, please updates etc to see if I can stop it glitching lol.
Happy Crafting :-)
