WOYWW 194

Hi all, it's just about still Wednesday so I have time to quickly join in with the famous woyww where crafter's share their wonderful creative desks.  I didn't get to visit much last week, sorry, I really don't know where the week went.  A close friend at work who works the office side while I work from home lost her husband so I have been really busy working and out a lot, her family has been with her and of course were work buddies but I really feel like I wish I could help in some way, but I know she knows I'm here if she needs me. Right to my desk ..................................
My dump desk has been my craft desk this evening,
I really wanted something to relax with so I started a card
that I already had a picture coloured for.  I colour when I end
up on the sofa with pain and because I normally like
to get inky I sometimes forget to make the cards up lol.
I'm working in this small space as my daughter has art course work to catch
up on, I really am lucky that normally I can spread out as I
really wouldn't be able to get inky here lol (still too much dumped on there!!!)

Hmmmmmmmmm, daughter got side tracked and this was taken
a few moments ago, she hasn't been in here all evening so
I could have spreaded out lol.  Here is my new heat tool, hopefully
this one will work as we had to send the other back.
I have finished my card, but no sneaky peak as it will be posted
in the morning/evening/midnight eek one of those anyway lol lol

Right I'm off to visit some desks for half hour as I really want to catch up this with with everyone, I miss looking :-)  Oh yes, just to mention I haven't forgot the candy for my two year anniversary, I'm just delaying slightly as I really want to reach a 100 followers as then it will be double celebration.  And don't worry you don't have to be a follower as I would like any body following me wanting to follow me if you get what I mean, think I need to go to bed soon lol, my English is awful!!!!
Happy Woyww

Paperartsy Inspiration Challenge - Linda Cain

Hi all, just popping on to show you what I have been playing with this evening after being inspired by Linda Cain over at the Paperartsy Blog.  She has been playing with bright colours distress inks and some of the gorgeous stamps by Jo Firth Young which you can buy over at the Paperartsy Shop :-).
Now I really am going to have a go at using the distress inks but tonight I wanted to keep playing with Fresco paints, they are truly amazing and I have just ordered another 5 colours (plus the gorgeous Lin Brown's new stamps).  Anyway I have been doing a short online course on colour theory and wow I can't believe all you can do with paints and the colours you can make.  So tonight I got experimenting and these are some of the colours I got and then further down my tag, which I really am pleased with, I'm certainly getting a little bit better at blending and when sanded looks awesome :-)

Just messing with colours I had in my fresco range,
well actually I only used a few colours here, I have
come to the conclusion that colours are like numbers
they never end lol

Close Ups
Now if you look closely to the right hand side, the last leaf with
zigzags, the colour orange seems quite deep in that area, this
was a mistake, I'm learning how to use my white pens I had
done the area, but decided to go over it, big mistake, I kept
pressing to get more ink out and wham white ink everywhere, I managed
to get most of it off with a baby wipe and careful scrubbing!! but
I thought it was ruined, but I then thought I would have a got at
repairing with fresco paints over the white and it's not too bad lol

The mixed greens, blues and pinks look really stunning
on this picture, I'm in love.  I have ordered sky blue and a lighter
green which I think may be a bit like these colours

Right I need to go to bed, I so wanted to finish this and it's been really relaxing painting, it's like when I'm colouring.  I have to admit I'm better with promarkers then painting but it's not too bad.
Happy Crafting to all

Valentine Hanging

Hi all, I'm going to be on time this week for once lol, it's time for another challenge over atThat Craft Place Challenge Blog the theme being for your valentine/love also we are having a DT call how exciting is that :-).
I shall be showing lots of pictures as it's the only way I can really show you the texture of each heart, I started off with a Tando Heart Wreath.
I would like to enter my creation into the following challenges
Frilly and Funky Challenge - Lacy hearts (lace flower and lots of hearts)
Simon says stamp and show challenge - Get Messy - I used UTEE, sprays, and lots more lol
Tando Creative Challenge - Valentines day I used Tando heart wreath

I shall work through what I did as I show you the close ups :-)
I really really enjoyed doing this, it was so much fun doing lots
of techniques on little hearts :-)

For the heart I used patterned music paper, then painted red
with a translucent paint, then did some flicking with black paint. The little
heart is texture past adding bumps, then painted, then added inka gold on top.
The heart was hanged by some chain, then beads wrapped with
metal added to the chain

Ok, where do I start lol, middle heart, felt with inka gold, then the
x was the same as the heart above.  Lace made into a flower with beads, then
sprayed with red.  The adore x was painted, then covered with
crackle paint, then dylusion spray black on top, the heart on it
is red clay, stamped with text, then inka gold on top.
The romance heart was covered in cheese cloth, then painted, then inka
gold on top.

The hug x was another fimo heart with crackle stamp and the x underneath
was the same as the heart with texture paste.
The lovers heart was the same as above, crackle painted and then the
heart underneath is lots of  UTEE with different embossing powder colours
and inka gold around the edges.

The main heart wreath was painted both sides, then lots of
Tim Holtz tissue scrunched up and modpodged on, then
modpodge on top, next step is lots of red sprays, when dried
inka gold on top with little gems

Closer look, the little heart with cherub on top was embossing powders and UTEE

I so wish you could feel the texture lol

Right I shall be off, a few jobs to do then some crafting later on in the day, sounds bliss lol.  Recipe of the products I used are below and you can purchase the items from That Craft Place Shop.
Hope you have a crafty Sunday.
Lots of hugs
Kerry xxxxxx

Paperartsy Inspiration

Hi all, I had loads of fun today just playing and learning about Paperartsy's waxed kraft paper. Helen did everything you can imagine with it lol, but there was just one more technique I wanted to try and that was with UTEE which looks brilliant.  I'm slightly disappointed as I also have almost finished another card thinking that the Paperartsy Inspiration Challenge was finishing tomorrow lunch but it's already finished so I'm not sure if it's a mistake or they did it early as they have been showing all new products, seriously you really want to go look, all the goodies and new designers are out of this world :-)

I embossed some kraft wax paper and glued it to
both corners, then I blended four colours of Fresco paint
(on of them was mixed lol). Lots and lots of
layers of paint, some credit card swipping
and bottle top stamping on the other corners.
 I then did some stamping,
the written text floating is because I started
stamping the middle and realised I was going to put
something in the centre lol

I used Paperartsy Stamp sets Ding & Dong SIDD2 and Clocks 1
and then more wax paper embossed and painted.  The clock
was stamped on Paperarsty smooth paper with versafine,
then different colours of Porfolio oil pastels blended on top,
actually first I did the colour, then I stamped, then I did
more colour to calm the black down lol

I stamped the centre clock with archival jet black, I had heated the
paper before hand to take the wax off. After stamping I ripped around
the edges and then scrunched it into a ball, this stuff is really really
tough, it certainly takes some hammering, then I used inka gold over
the crinkles then I used UTEE three times.

Right I shall be off, might pop the link on to a comment just in case the linky expired early.  I just want to finish my other one which is a funky bird!!!!  The recipe of products used are below and can be all bought from the Paperartsy Shop.
Happy Crafting

My Sexy Valentine

Hi all, just popping on to enter the challenge over at Kenny K Challenge Blog the theme being To the one I love.  I absolutely love colouring and really getting the hang of it and Kenny K images are brilliant and fun, so I decided to make a valentines tag for my other half!!!! lol, he actually received it yesterday as well so wasn't late lol.
My background was done with a mask and pan pastels as I wanted to have a quick go to see if I would like them, yep they are yummy :-)
I used a glaze over the top of the pan pastels
which seem to mute it a lot, which worked for this tag
but need to work on trying to see how I keep the colours

I used chit chat words and thickers alphabet to do the sentiment
and edged with inka gold, then to add a little extra a bit of ribbon stapled

Close up of colouring think my skin needs to be darker lol.
I so wish I had her body :-)

Right I'm off to bed lol, happy crafting :-) Kezzy xxx

Craft Barn Journal - E for Eternity

Hi all, I have done another page in my journal for this weeks dictionary journal challenge over at the Craft Barn and the challenge is E.
This is my third page so far and I'm slowly learning, but still saturating the page a bit lol. I chose Eternity which I did today for Valentines day lol.

Just to show its in my dictionary lol

I am really pleased with this page, lots going on but you can
actually make it out this time :-)

Showing one of the words highlighted, this being excitement!!!!
The embellishment is fimo stamped and inka gold on top

Wooden heart, painted, then stamped with a
crackle, then one side heat embossed with lots
of embossing powders. Then eternity stamped and
stuck on

You can actually see some words this time!!!!

The underneath hearts was made by using a stencil with
fresco paint which I was hoping would resist the sprays,
it didn't resist as much as I would have liked but I think that's
because I saturated the paper with sprays

Right I'm off to bed. Hope you have a beautiful day tomorrow.  Lots of hugs and kisses seems it's valentines day lol.
Happy Crafting :-)

WOYWW 193

Hi all, late again, just popping on to join in with woyww where everyone shows their workspace.  I have been working on bits and bobs, but this evening I am finishing off a valentine tag to put downstairs in the kitchen so he can be surprised in the morning, I have little bits all over the place, I have even managed to hide a single rose in the bedroom for morning, I put it in some water in a bottle then hid it behind a pile of clothes, all I have to hope now is that when he went to bed earlier, he didn't wonder why all my clothes were out of the drawer lol lol.  I'm just waiting for my daughter to be dropped off from a band she went to see, hope she realises she is still going to school in the morning!!!  ok I shall shut up, you can tell I'm on my own waiting can't you!!! even the dog has gone off to sleep and won't listen to me lol lol lol.

Yep a complete mess, I really need to sort out this weekend lol

Dumping desk is now spilling to dumping floor!!!!!

Right I'm off to wait downstairs and do some more colouring.  Hope you all have a fantastic crafty week.
Happy Woyww
Lots of hugs and valentine kisses

My Little Sewing Shop

Hi all, just popping on to show my DT creation, over at Anything Goes Challenge Blog the new challenge is Vintage/Shabby Chic, how exciting is that :-)

I used the small wooden embellishments box, you know, the ones that
have small wooden bits in. The picture shows you what I used,
except the ones I show have already been cut up for another project.
Then I just popped card round it all (really thick card from packaging).

I'm so not happy with this, I felt it was a bit flat so shaded with polochromas
pencils but didn't have time to try and blend.

Close Ups

Right I shall be off, hope you all have a fantastic crafty day and enjoy those pancakes, yummy :-)
Happy Crafting :-)

WOYWW 192

Hi all, just popping on to join in with WOYWW over at Julia's fantastic blog.  Just a few bits and bobs on my desk today, mostly preparing bits ready to start lol.  Crafting has lacked for the last few days as life got in the way lol.  The biggest blow was finding out that we might loose our home in 5 years time for a railway to go through!!!!  We get the final decision in around a year, but they are warning us now, hence why crafting was slow while I digested that information!!! I have to try and not keep thinking about it as it's a while off so What will be will be:-)

Desk ................................
My daughters art homework, an ATC drying, a box that I want
to alter for keeping my ATC's in, paper pad I'm planning on using for
a DT piece, plus stamps all stacked up on plastic drawers,
and a shadow box for a paperartsy challenge.

Dumping desk is not too bad, been trying to put bits
away, for relaxation I have been doing some colouring
so a finished Kenny K image.  Floor a mess
with fabrics and paper that I'm planning on my daughter who
left there to pick up lol lol

So lots to start crafting with tomorrow, so looking forward in getting back into it, mind you I have caught up with some tv lol. I have been blogging over two years now so towards the end of February I'm planning on some candy :-)
Hope your week is extra crafty and happy :-)
Happy Woyww :-)

3 Hearts

Hi all, this should have been up on Sunday but life got in the way lol.  So it's time for our new challenge over at That Craft Place Challenge Blog which is White on White with the option of a splash of colour.  Now over at the Frilly and Funky Challenge Blog they have a challenge saying Spruce it up, so I have had this wood hanging just laying around so I though why not have a go, but I have to admit, not sure I should have done it with a challenge of white on white lol. I would also like to enter it into the Fashionable Stamping Challenge which their challenge is Show some love.

I painted the wood with Fresco paint london bus, then used fresco
crackle and then covered it with Fresco paint snowflake.  I wanted
it to only show in areas as I noticed it looked too red, so I dry brushed
white in areas to take some of the crack away.  Then I used
sparkle medium through some sequin waste and added clear glass micro
beads to add texture.  I also stamped a few swirls and embossed them in
white for more texture.  By this time the string hanging looked too
off white so I covered it with picket fence distress stain.

The hearts were made of clay, the white ones where stamped with
an uninked flourish, and then the red I used brilliance inkpad and
stamped into the clay.  The little hearts I added a whole before cooking
so I could hang from the bottom.  They all had a coat of varnish and the
works were stamped on card, cut up and glued on (really fiddley lol)

Right I shall be off, hope you all have a lovely evening.  I'm planning on some crafting :-) just a play.
Happy Crafting :-)

Craft Barn - C

Hi all, the Craft Barn has a Alpha challenge running and this week it has been C.  I wasn't going to add this journal page as it's really boring to the eye, but to me it has so much meaning.  I have been having a lot of problems recently (2 teenagers at home!!!) and at the moment with other things going on my life seems Complicated, and that is the work I chose.  Also under all the black, cherry and red I have wrote my feelings, then I stamped lonely girl by Dina Wakely and added some dictionary words on how I am feeling as well, and most of all I wrote a lot about how I am finding being a Mum to two teenagers hard as they are both going through issues :-(.  I really want to continue with the challenge so I am adding it, and I'm hoping no one minds how dark it is.

Also after are a few close ups, one of which is the V from last week as I didn't show it so I have to have proof lol, then I hid this weeks C so I have took a picture of the next page as well lol.

Double spread, so you can see dictionary :-)

The dictionary I got for £2.50 from a charity shop which I'm
using, it's so huge and the pages don't soak all the way through which is
brill, I'm planning on continuing with it as well through the year
doing other pages :-)

For Izzy the V (just see it lol)

Right I'm off before I change my mind, been wondering since yesterday if to add it.  Better be off, hope you all have a fantastic Sunday.  Lots of Hugs Kezzy xxx

Paperartsy - Metal

Hi all, just popped on to do 2 posts lol, meant to do one of them last night but forgot.  So if you haven't yet heard, Paperartsy have been having weekly designers and we get to have a go at what they have inspired us with that week.  This week it has been the wonderful Suzanne Czosek and she has been working with Paperartsy metal card (which is brilliant, it has metal on top and card underneath to make it stable, fab idea) and Fresco paints which by now you must know I love them lol, especially after the tag I did post here on last weeks challenge, the blending was amazing, I think it's the first time I have ever ever been happy with something.

So this week I have been playing with metal and having a go at blending on there as well.  I have also been having a go at mixing the paints as well :-)

I used Fresco crackle glaze, Fresco paint lilac, vintage lace and baltic blue
mixed with london bus to get a darker purple. The dots on the card
are also lilac and the darker purple on the tag are the mixed purple.
The flowers were made from card that I spritzed water on the
darker purple and lilac and dipped card in randomly.
The flowers are from HP1009 and you can get them all from the Paperartsy Shop :-)

Closer picture of the crackle glaze and what it does.

Can't wait to see who is here tomorrow.  I haven't got any DT bits to do next week so I'm hoping to play more.  My problem is I start playing and then can't stop and miss the challenge lol.  Happy Crafting :-)

Tim Holtz January Tag

Hi all, I have been playing this evening, doing Tim Holtz 12 Tags 2013 January's tag.  I have tried to do the same as I'm trying to learn all the techniques.  I have fallen in love with everything Ranger, apart from the Ranger heat gun I got at Christmas that broke 5 days after using it, so still trying to sort out with who I bought it from (well OH as he bought it).

So onto my tag :-)

I used nearly everything Tim used apart from the
hand stamp, and I haven't yet got any metallic stains yet
so I used acrylic paint.  I also stuck the gears
on before distressing them, I did it a bit on the tag, but
of course would have liked to have done it properly lol.

I stamped the numbers on the ribbon as I didn't have
that stamp.

Right I'm off, still playing :-) Happy Crafting Hugs Kerry :-)

Recipe
Stamps - Stampers Anonymous Tim Holtz (going somewhere, stuff to say), Creative Expressions (vintage artist)
Distress Ink pads - (rusty hinge, walnut stain, stormy sky, ices spruce)
