Creative Expressions - Lifetime of Memories

Good morning, how are you today?  I haven't been feeling too well this week, my pain injections have ran out so just waiting for my next lot, but it does make me feel a little low at times.  Anyway it's Monday and it's time for my project for the Creative Expressions Blog and I can't believe that I have only two more projects left before I leave.  I decided not to stay on purely as I really want to express more of my mixed media, but wow they have a fantastic new team with some of the previous team added in, watch out for all the new wow projects from the new team starting in November.  As always I shall highlight the Creative Expressions projects during my step by step :-).
I would like to enter the following challenges -
Simon Says Wednesday Challenge - Use Watercolours (tag background shown in step by step uses Cosmic Shimmer Watercolour paints.
Addicted To Stamps & More - Anything Goes
Papertake Weekly Challenge - Anything Goes
Through The Craft Room Door - Anything Goes
613 Avenue Create Challenge - Anything Goes/CAS

And now for the step by step ......................

Mix Cosmic Shimmer Sparkle Texture Paste Warm Gold with Studio 490 Black
Embossing Paste, and use through a Special Touch Doodle Damask on a
Inkssentials Giant Tag #12.

I added the rest of the paste around come corrugated cardboard.

I cut out a picture from the paper stack Tim Holtz Lost and Found and added
Inkssentials Crackle Accents.

I took some thick chipboard packaging and painted with a mix of
Eco Green Black Paint and Cosmic Shimmer Paint Gold.

When the above is dry stamp Creative Expressions Filigree Frame with
Cosmic Shimmer Glake & Flitter Glue and then cover with
Cosmic Shimmer Summer Meadow Flakes.

At first when I stamped it, the glue picked up the cardboard seems
it was only cheap packaging, to solve this on the above
I used an anti static pad, but talc would work as well.

Next cover the entire tag with Cosmic Shimmer Watercolour Paint Olympic Gold,
it will look messy to start with.

Next use Cosmic Shimmer Watercolour Autumn Twist.

Next use Distress Stain Walnut Stain in a spray bottle, and add at
the top and let drip down the tag.

Add in the wet areas Cosmic Shimmer Mica Pigments Dark Bronze, a little
at a time, then dry.

Give the corrugated background lots of the distress stain, then while it's wet add
splatters of the watercolour gold and brown and then the sprinkle of the mica pigment.

Next re ink the frame stamp with Adirondack Espresso and line up the
stamp over the gilding flake frame, emboss with Cosmic Shimmer Clear Powder and
add some Cosmic Shimmer Mist Bronze Blush.

It looks like shading when slightly offset.

Next stamp the script from Creative Expressions Timeless Journey Stamp Set with
Archival Potting Soil and emboss with the clear embossing powder.
I also swiped the pad over the embossing paste and embossed with clear powder
to make them pop, I also ripped the bottom part off around one/third.

A close up.

Scrunch up some Tim Holtz Idea-ology Kraft Glassine Paper and then
add both brown ink pads over the top.  Add to the back of the frame with the
picture at the front.

Ink up all the edges with the Adirondack Espresso, rip up some of the
edges as well and then emboss with the clear embossing powder.

Scrunch up more of the Kraft Paper and add around the edges.

Ink up all the edges with the brown ink pad.

Also ink the background edges and then add the tag on top.  Add some
chain for the hanging.  On the Frame add an Creative Expressions Vintage Metal Corner
and use some Tim Holtz Chit Chat Verbiages stickers for the sentiment.

Thank you so much for visiting today, hope you enjoyed the step by step.  Any questions just ask. Hope your day is full of joy and craft.
Happy Creating :-)

Creative Expressions - CAS

Good morning, how are you all this morning, it's Monday which means it's time for my weekly creation over at Creative Expressions Blog.  We have a new format over there now which means everything gets posted into one post a day, because of this they realised it now goes live too early for me to give my project on a Monday morning so I had to do it for Friday which I only found it not long before.  Because of this I have a very CAS card for you, now I have to admit I don't think I like it, but part of me does, I know it makes no sense.  As always I shall highlight the Creative Expressions products in the step by step:-)
I would like to enter the following challenges -
613 Avenue Create - Anything Goes
Sister Act Card Challenge - Anything Goes
Sisters of Craft Challenge - Anything Goes
ABC Challenge - U is for Unique/Anything Goes
A Gem of a Challenge - Clean and Simple

This month we will be working with some gorgeous frames.

And now for the mega quick step by step lol ...........................

Take some Creative Expressions Coconut Card Stock and Distress Ink Pad
Bundled Sage and swipe the ink pad across the paper until it is completely covered.

Next mask off the frame part of the Creative Expressions Single Stamp
Curled Frame, ink the middle quote with Versafine black ink pad or
Archival and then take the masking off and stamp.

Stamp directly in the middle of a cut piece of card stock.

Cover the whole piece of the previous sage coloured card and spray
loads of Cosmic Shimmer Mist Pearl over it and leave it to dry.

Next ink the full frame stamp and emboss with Cosmic Shimmer Detail Black.

Cut out the wording and use an inkpad or black promarker to edge the frame.

Next work out your matt and layering.

Last but not least, use Cosmic Shimmer Water Colour Jade Mint to
paint inside the swirls so they reflect in the light.  Add everything together
and add some Creative Expressions Pearl Gems in the bottom and top opposite
corners.

Right, better be off, hope you enjoyed my CAS card, apart from the occasional Christmas CAS card this will probably be it.  Mind you I do try, I have taken a class using stencils on cards for the simplicity look and hopefully I can make a few more.  They are great for quick cards and I really should stop buying them, I know guilty.  My time with Creative Expressions is almost finished and I have made a few cards this year so I am hoping I can still make a few more occasionally lol.
Happy Creating :-)

Unruly Paperarts - Painted Journal

Good evening, how are you?  I can't believe it get's so dark lately in the UK, it seems to go really quick and POW Autumn is here with is cool air and fog plus darker longer nights.  I'm not sure that I'm ready lol.  The good thing about Autumn is the fact that the ART you can create is full of plums, rusty orange, golds and browns.
Anyway I have actually popped on to say that I have a painted journal step by step over on the Unruly Paperarts Blog, now this month we are doing Painted Perfect and what I have to show you plus the step by step is a journal background.  I loved the background so much that what I initially thought of doing just didn't seem right.  So it has sat there feeling lonely.  Because I was posting about it, I decided to get it out and I think I know exactly what I am planning on doing with it now so will be back to show it off lol.

I have decided not to cover up the background completely so I have found
a gorgeous quote to add to it, a bit more stamping and doodling and I will show it
off towards the end of the week with a continued step by step.
Of course you need to fly yourself to Unruly Paperarts which will take
you to the first step by step and be back at the end of the week here to see
the end result when I have finished it :-)

Right I shall be back tomorrow with my Creative Expressions, I am also spending the time this evening to write up all my posts for the week as I have so much to put on here but when I start creating in the evening I end up forgetting lol.
Happy Creating :-)
