Hi all, bet your wondering where I have been for a week, I had a virus type thingy that effected my ears, doc says it was from the cold at the beginning of the month and I did keep feeling really sicky all week and dizzy, then I also had a project that I had to do, completely secret for now but I shall show you soon.
So anyway I'm back and I have a post everyday this week so hopefully it will make up for last week lol.
It's time for my DT piece for the challenge over at That Craft Place Challenge Blog which is BABY - eeeek I seriously struggled with this lol, it's just one of those things I'm not good at, I guess it's because I like bright not pastel, also I like lots of texture as well.

Papercrafting Journey Challenge - For a Boy (this is for a baby boy)

Paperartsy Inspiration
Hi all, I managed to have a play this morning to join in over at Paperartsy Inspiration Challenge and this weeks designer is the amazing Joanne Wardle her cards are super gorgeous. I have always had trouble doing one layer cards but I just had to have a go. I'm not over happy as I really need to keep practicing painting with frescos. Also the stamped image should have been higher but what actually happened was I am now using thin acrylic blocks by Paperartsy, they are fantastic I can actually sit down and stamp, only problem is trailing fingers which I managed to get on the bottom of my card so I chopped it off lol. Recipe of what I used are at the bottom but wow aren't Darcys stamps lush :-)
Right better be off as the challenge finishes soon.
Hugs Kezzy :-) xxxxx

Cup of Tea anyone!!!!
Hi all, I know I bet your wondering where I have been, believe it or not I have been sewing a tea cosy, well actually two of them lol. It's my sisters birthday today and she mentioned ages ago how she would like an unusual tea cosy, so I thought I would have a go. I looked up lots of tutorials and most said it only takes an hour!!!! Hmmmmmmmmmm more like days and days, I feel like I have been sewing for a year, I have so many pinholes in my fingers and the floor in my craft room when I had done was, well what can I say, I had to wade through lots of bits of fabric and thread, I swear a professional sewer could come and make 10 garments out of my waste!!!! lol. You see my sister is a sew mistress (do they still call them that?), many years ago she used to own her own business but changed career and now runs a Nursery but she still does costumes for local drama groups. Now she knows I don't sew, I mean I had her over the other day to try and teach me a few things lol. So everything had to be proper proper proper and wow I am impressed but seriously give me my PAINTY/INKY hands any day, I can't wait to get crafty tomorrow :-) Check out the Recipe at the end of the page, its completely fun but you can see how much I enjoyed this project!!!
So now you know, why I had completely dropped off the face of the earth, I was a slave to my sewing machine :-). I have loads of comments to catch up and loads of good old painty and inky fun (bliss).
Happy Crafting, thank you so much for visiting

Recipe
Template, hmmmm this took me 3 hours alone, I am an accountant but seriously does it have to be that complicated to work out a large half circle
Fabric, lots of fabric, more fabric for mistakes, plus more chucking around the room while going hysterical
Thread, lots and lots and lots of thread, oh and a bit more thread for all those ones that got
chucked on the floor in temper.
Wadding, which trust me trying to cut that stuff is absolute torture, I had to get Mr Holtz scissors out.
Patience - lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots, well you get the picture lol
Crochet, yarn and needle - complete bliss and was the simplest of it all.
Pins - pins that insist that poking your skin is fun, is there any other kind!!!!
Plasters - lots and lots to cover all fingers that insisted on bleeding everywhere :-)
My sister has a household of musicians, she plays the clarinet,
her partner plays everything I reckon, but he is a music teacher and
does so much more and my nephew also plays so much, he is in a band,
plays numerous instruments plus has passed all his grades so can teach
and is also studying Music at college and should be going to university next year
and he is only 17.
Now my family, well I'm afraid we are all completely tone deaf, my son
does try and play the guitar so there is hope for him but lets
just say, my sister so loved our happy birthday song that we sang down
the phone!!!! she was peeing herself with laughter!!!! lol
Yep my sister can be the only person who has a two tea pots, one for
when they are visitors and one for herself so of course I made two.
Everything I completely did by myself including the crochet.
Crochet took around 3 hours, tea cosies took around 28hrs!!!!!!!
So now you know, why I had completely dropped off the face of the earth, I was a slave to my sewing machine :-). I have loads of comments to catch up and loads of good old painty and inky fun (bliss).

WOYWW 224
Hi all, it's Wednesday which means it's time for all us crafters to share our desks over at What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday which is hosted by the amazing Julia. Sorry I didn't get around a lot last week, one minute it's Wednesday the next Tuesday night lol. I always think that September time is when mums are busy getting our kids off to schools and college, even though mine are 16 and 14 I have been mega busy, seriously it was easier when they were babies, plus they didn't have an opinion!!!! lol lol I love them to bits. Plus work wise September is the start of a new financial year and I tend to go from part time hours to working loads lol. It's only two weeks in and I'm ready for a break lol lol. It's like my daughter, now she has started college (this week) in Nottingham she feels I should allow her to do more, in other words tonight she was going to this college play thing that finished at 9.15pm, she told me she would be able to get a bus with her mate into the city and she only had to walk a few steps to the bus, hmmmmmmmmmmmmm after drilling her the few steps was her walking from one side of the city on her own to the other side right through the centre of town, it's a big city, yes it would have only took her 20mins but with the trouble you can get even my other half wouldn't let me do it, so nope we picked her up. So I am now the mum who won't let her grow up, bad mother lol, but next time she will be picked up as well, so there (just in case she reads this lol).
Right I better be off to bed, I shall be visiting tomorrow, determined to visit who I missed :-)
Thank you so much for following me, if you see any pictures that you want to ask more about then please email or comment and I shall try and help.
Happy Woyww :-)

Note - just putting a link up for where I got the lovely frame from on this canvas in this post here, it's in France but the postage costs are quite cheap and I received it within a few days. The frames are wood and not expensive and they have loads of beautiful bits. Link - http://www.scrapdesirs.com/, I initially found out about this shop from Lin Brown over at Yours Artfully and wow and the way she uses the frames are amazing :-)
So this is how my desk was this morning, I was trying to do a tag
and had the idea of using Tim Holtz tissue paper and doing a resist with clear embossing
powder, well we all have to learn somewhere lol, and I learnt that
how ever way I tried it, it didn't work. First off I was definitely having a
arty breakdown because I used distress paints, seriously, we all know the
whole point of acrylics it dries permanent so errrr that didn't work
(pictures are down at bottom as it made a fantastic resist on the copy paper lol)
and then I tried distress ink pads but they didn't want to stay on the tissue paper,
I really was doing something wrong lol, so guess what, I chucked
it all on the table and walked away. Grrrrrrrr
feel calmer now as I have a cleared desk ready for more playing. As it
is this evening I have tried to sort some more of the stuff in bags
and as you will see in the picture later I have sorted all my buttons and errrrr I have
a button addiction!!!! Do you?
Pretty much still a dumping desk of stamps from the weekend and
bits that are in the middle of being sorted, if I ever get there lol
hmmmmm still looking the same!!!! I have took some buttons
from the brown bags so that's some sorted.
At this rate I will never get started on crimbo :-)
The two big boxes below are all my 12by12 papers that are actually
full so some are now behind the back.
On top is my bigger punches in the purple box, then on top is
a box that needs emptying full of crimbo bits.
On top of the other box are crimbo 12by12 papers that have no chance of fitting
in the box and on top of them is some music fabric which
I will be working with tomorrow but can't show it until Saturday!!!
Hmmmmm button addiction
Beautiful gorgeous buttons
I love putting my hand through them all
(ok need to call for the boys with the white coats)
The paper is A4 which shows how big the box is
and errrrr it's pretty deep!!!
This is the paint resist, I had added the tissue wrap first then
I stamped with the large script from Tim Holtz Papillon
(think it's called that, I can't be bothered to look lol) with versamark,
then used clear embossing powder, then did the wrinkle free with
distress paints. When dried I used an iron, isn't the resist on the copy paper nice lol
Same except went over with distress ink pads, it must be the tissue wrap
(or more probable users mistake!!! lol)
Hey talking of Mr Holtz have you seen he is doing Chemistry 102
starting on 1st October :-)
I have also got some of his fabric coming as well, at last it's in the UK :-)
Right I better be off to bed, I shall be visiting tomorrow, determined to visit who I missed :-)
Thank you so much for following me, if you see any pictures that you want to ask more about then please email or comment and I shall try and help.

First time with distress markers, took some
getting used to trying to blend. I have included
the ones I used below in the recipe section :-)
I covered the canvas in tissue paper that had a music
design all over it.
While the canvas dried I painted the frame (which is from France
if anyone wants to know the details just comment and I shall find the link. They
do beautiful frames and the postage over here is really cheap.
I painted it with Fresco paint then used a crackle medium.
After it dried I painted it over with snowflake then
when that dried I lightly sanded.
Next I added a watered down coating of snowflake
Then I added some colour with Derwent inktense blocks.
I used these so when I went over it again, because they are water colours
they will blend with the snowflake in areas.
Before adding snowflake I stamped some script
When I stamp with script on backgrounds I never use a stamping block
instead I curve it in my hands.
I did drip it at one stage which you can see, so I will just cover that up
later.
Now for some snowflake.
To protect everything so far I added a matt medium
Next some Kroma Crackle in areas
After that dries some grunge paste through masks for some more texture
While that is drying I stamped on water colour card with my image Elizabeth and
painted used my distress markers.
Close up. I only coloured where I would be using.
Next stamped and embossed with white the flowers.
Here you can see a bird but I didn't use it. I have wanted to try this
technique for awhile and after I used the distress markers I was well impressed.
Close up of all the wonderful texture.
I wanted a bit more colour so decided to use some sprays
(I ended up with cosmic shimmer and perfect pearl mists shown in recipe below)
Close up before all the bits were added :-)
I hope you enjoyed the step by step, any questions please don't hesitate in emailing or commenting. Thank you so much for joining me today.
Happy Crafting :-)

Paperartsy - Alison Bomber
Hi all, just popping on quickly to show you my Paperartsy tag, this week over on the Paperartsy blog the designer is Alison Bomber and wow she is amazing. I have followed her for awhile and her work is so inspiring. Because of a stinker of a cold I haven't been able to join in this week, but luckily managed to now but it finishes in 35mins eek lol. I had a go at this project because I love the vintage look and the browns of distress, but I never ever can get it right but now I know why, I need to use more more more (bit too much probably but wow I have had fun lol).
Right better go and enter quickly lol. Oh I really need to go flick water on the little tag, I prefer that effect lol. Happy Crafting :-), p.s. I have a DT project to come on here later as well :-) xxx

EDIT - you won't believe what I have just done, put this post on the DT challenge blog instead of mine so I have had to rush to move it over, grrrrrrrrrr, thank goodness for copy and paste!!! lol lol lol xxxx
Recipe
Paperartsy - crunchy and smooth paper
Paperartsy - Fresco paints snowflake
Paperartsy stamps - HP1005, HP1006, HP1109, man of numbers 2
Distress ink pads - gathered twigs, walnut stain
Book Paper
Ideology Tim Holtz metal leaf
Treasure gold on above leaf renaissance
Wow clear embossing powder
I wish I had flicked the tag and little tag with water,
completely forgot. I didn't use snowflake on the
tags, as I didn't like the distress on it so I started again.
The edges have all been embossed with clear powder.
The crunchy was embossed, but without looking not sure what
with as it's left over from another Paperartsy project :-)
