Charisma Cardz Challenge Blog - Alter It

Hi all, hope all you mums had a fantastic Mother's Day and for everyone else hope you also had a fantastic crafty weekend.  I spent most of the weekend crafting yippee, some of it DT work but I also did my first altered frame.  I had bought a few frames from a charity shop for a £1 last year and haven't done anything with them, I really wanted to make mum something special as I really love her and decided to have a go at altering a frame.  I sanded the wooden frame, then painted the back and sides with dulux (last year a DIY shop near us closed and I got 14 pots at 50p each), then I slapped some modpodge on the front and stuck  down some patterned paper, then sanded lightly, then used paperartsy fresco white paint on the edges of the paper to give it a shabby chic look, then sanded again lol.  I wanted some embossing on it (I so love embossing) so I chose a crafty individuals stamp (details below), I really love this stamp for doing edging etc, I embossed using wow white, but I didn't have a suitable green so I mixed some wow clear with cosmic shimmer mica pigments and it came out gorgeous.  The end was making some mini roses using a MC die.
I would love to enter this into the Charisma Cardz who's challenge this week is Alter It.
I'm afraid the picture was a nightmare to take as I kept reflecting off it and I only finished the frame an hour before seeing mum so I didn't have much time to faff about lol lol.

Hope you all have a nice evening.  Thanks for looking :-) Kezzy xxx

he he - Dulux! It looks good on my walls and your lovely frame - it's the perfect colour for such a wonderful photograph. The non faff time paid off as the balance of the flowers is just right! Thanks for calling by - and yes I got your lovely comment - thanks for such lovely words and I'm glad I could help a little and hear things are on the up. Mum cooked me GF yorky puds, apple crumble and lemon meringue pie on Sunday and we ALL thought it was yum!!!! See you on WOYWW soon. Sarah.
