Tim Holtz December Tags

Hi all, can't believe it took me a couple of days messing around doing some tags lol.  I really wanted to be able to play with my distress stains and distress markers so I took my time :-)
Here are Mr Tim Holtz (click his name to be sent wheezing off to his famous blog) stunning tags.

And here is my take on them :-)

Now initially I was going to buy re-inkers, but before I wrote my crimbo list I actually watched Tim's video's for distress stains and found out that they will re-act with water but the re-inkers wouldn't as you already put water into them so luckily I asked for distress stains lol. I had non of the metal distress stains so I added perfect pearls sprayed on the tag instead.  The red distress stain covered beautifully but for some reason the broken china left two saturated lines either side, I have covered them up below but you can just about see some of them, so I think alot more practise is ahead lol.

Right I shall be off, thinking of finally putting some of my Christmas craft away, think it's time to stop lol, I just wish I had done alot more, next year I shall be making sure on my birthday 1st September that crimbo will come out again early, so when I have to have my injections in December and am ill, all crimbo will be done lol lol.  I have so many new bits that I haven't used that next year I really should not buy anything for crimbo crafts, mind you I am wanting some TH sizzix and festive stamps so apart from them I shall be good. Please don't remind me next year when I start buying lol, all good intentions shall be out the window when September comes and all the new winter crafts come out lol lol. Right I'm going as I'm waffling!!!!

Snowflakes ATC

Hi all, just popping on just in time to enter the challenge over at ATC's with Attitude which is Anything Goes.

All the details are below, I haven't got time to explain how lol as I won't make the challenge, but if you would like to know anything just leave a comment :-), I will mention one thing, I love how the snowflakes seem to flicker out at the corners, that was a happy accident, as I was randomly spraying, in between I dried with a heat gun which melted the clear embossing powder slightly and let the sprays seep in :-) Oh and I think you can tell that it's the first time I have ever engraved in stampbord, it's not as easy as I thought it would be lol.

WOYWW 186

Hi all, Merry Christmas (oops a day late lol).  Now I don't feel like it's Wednesday, but according to the famous Julia at WOYWW it's definitely Wednesday which means it's time to show my craft desk lol.
I have done no crafting for days with all the crimbo festivities, and this evening I have just bought all my crafty bits upstairs and popped them on my desk, ready to start sorting in the morning.  I'm looking forward to some crafting over the next few days.

On my desk is some new kaisercraft papers etc from my sis, and my OH bought me a full set of distress markers, some distress stains, stamps, perfect pearls, and a heat gun (as I melted my previous heat gun!!!). I also got some pennies which I have already ordered some of the new distress re-inkers to go with my distress markers, a go kreate die, some decent water colour card, two stamps, and some paper pads from the glitter pot that are open tomorrow so I am hoping they will be sent straight away lol.  I have been really spoilt this year :-)

I have had such a special couple of days and hope you all have had an enjoyable Christmas.  There are still some crimbo challenges I want to enter so shall be back.  Actually I still haven't posted my DT that I did on Sunday so shall be back tomorrow to do the post lol.
I hope you all have more time off work, I have an hour to do tomorrow and next Thursday to pay wages but apart from that I'm not at work until 8th January :-).

WOYWW 185

Hi all, sorry I haven't been around, I have had a difficult time with an infection after my treatment and was really rough for a few days.  Just getting back into things and I can't believe that suddenly Christmas is next week and I have loads to do.  I have loads more Christmas cards etc with new stash I want to make but me thinks I will be playing after Christmas lol, thank goodness it's over a week :-).
So if your wondering why I have made an appearance today, why of course, it's Wednesday which means it's time for everyone to share their craft desks over at Woyww which is hosted by the amazing Julia.  And thanks to Julia I have a Christmas background, she told me of Lee-lou blogs which has free ones and wow it's so easy, I have just done it, took me 5 mins.

Dumping Desk

My desk has two masterboards I did yesterday
so I can cut them up to make some quick cards :-)

I hope all you wonderful WOYWW'ers have a mega Fantastic Happy Christmas, with lots of love and hugs and kisses.
I shall be back with some creations over the next few days, then between Christmas and New Year I am planning on craft craft craft, I have no work, partner off as well and we have decided that this year we would just have chill out time before the new year starts, Sounds So Wonderful, and hopefully I shall be having some crafting goodies arriving, some stamps, bits and bobs and I am finally going to be trying out the Distress stains :-).
Happy Christmas Crafting

WOYWW 184

Hi all, it's Tuesday night well actually it's just turned Wednesday morning, which means it time for What's on your Workdesk Wednesday where all crafters get together to show each other's desk. Now hopefully I will have time to link it up in the morning before I go (so 5.25hrs Eeek).  In 7.5hrs I will be in hospital having my back treatment injections.  I am sorry I haven't been around much, I have been busy trying to sort out for tomorrow, having to have 5 days with my feet up is scary to say how close Christmas is.  I have all my promarkers and stamped images by the sofa ready lol.  So I'm afraid not much on my desk as cleared a bit of it away after tonight's card.

Sorry I didn't get to visit anybody last week, but I shall be nosing around everyone tomorrow when I'm sofa blogging if all goes well.
Happy Woyww all

WOYWW 183

Hi all, can you believe that Christmas is 3 weeks away, actually just under 3 weeks and I have about 3 presents and 1 card that you can see on the desk this week. Yep I have billions and billions to make and buy (yet again I might be over exaggerating lol).  This time next week I shall be in the operating theatre finally having my special injections so shall be on woyww earlier next week :-).  What scares me the most is that I have to be resting 5-7 days, mmmmmmm and when do I get to do the things I need to do!!!  Think internet shopping is going to be my best friend this year lol.  So here I am waffling on, bet your wondering why I'm here, well today is Wednesday which means it's time for my weekly addiction of What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday where all crafter's show their clean/messy organised/chaos desks, well mine is definitely messy chaos this week lol.
Just stopped by the host's Julia blog (link above) to see which woyww week it was and WOW have you seen her festive blog, I really really want to do mine but I am so crap at this things, if anyone knows of a simple way of doing it and would like to share I would really appreciate it :-)  :-)  :-)

This is what was left from last nights card, I really enjoyed
just playing with paper and stamps doing some paper piercing,
it was extremely relaxing.  On the drawers (which now seem
to be another dumping ground) is a pile of stamps I had got out
for some inspiration as I knew I had to get that first card done soon :-)

My other dumping ground lol, you should see me trying to get
to the sewing machine last night everything was dumped on the
side which then fell done while sewing the card OOPS!! lol
Last night while piling it all back again I got some papers out for some
more inspiration as I really am planning on doing more paper and stamping
as it's so relaxing.  Plus I am addicted to papers and this year
am determined to use some of each range I have.
The Teresa Collins one I used last night was from last year that
I hadn't used yet.  I even have stamps (like a whole set of molly blooms)
from last year that haven't even been inked yet and of course bought
some new ones this year.
Have promised myself that between Christmas and New Year
that I shall still play Christmas so I'm not rushing and I can
also save it until next year. :-)

Right I better get back to work (working from home), I have actually got to nip into the office today which with my back is always an effort so will have to rest later, how annoying.  Hoping to get around to commenting more this week, I have a new phone which I found out last night makes commenting so much easier and has a huge screen so can see everything clearly, which means now while sofa resting I can do loads of visiting which is fab.  Lots of hugs coming your way, Happy Woyww Kerry xxxxx

Hi all, wasn't sure what to do this evening, I fancied playing with some paper but had no inspiration.  I went around a few blogs and found this fab challenge blog called The Play Date Cafe and the challenge was the awesome picture below.  I had a new paper pad from Teresa Collins from last year unused and it just went beautifully with these colours.  Believe it or not this is my first!!!! christmas card, just 10 million to go (ok so that maybe a bit of an exaggeration lol).

And my card
I can't believe it, it's wonky, how come I always
notice after the card is finished lol.
The sewing is meant to be wonky, honest!!!

Right I'm off as OH has just turned his computer off to go to bed so I shall follow him lol.  Thank you for visiting I really do appreciate it.  See  you soon with more christmas cards hopefully, I shall be making, writing and sending them at this rate lol.  Hugs Kerry :-) xxxxx

Little Tiny Christmas Tree

Hi all, I'm back again with a entry for Crafty Individuals Festive Sparkle Challenge.  Now I haven't entered before now as I really couldn't seem to get anything Christmasey right, but yesterday I bought a little Christmas tree and decided to decorate it for the challenge.  Yep as you can imagine, lots and lots and lots of shrink plastic.  I used Brilliance ink and stamped the text first, then lightly heat dried, then stamped again with a darker metalic colour.  Then I shrunk them all with my heat gun, next I used UTEE to cover them 3 times then added a little sparkle embossing powder in places to give the sparkle.

Now before I go can anybody help me.  For some reason I can't see the linky on any challenge blogs I go to, not even the one I design for.  My OH reckons I have deleted something so it's hiding.  His computer shows it up so I am going to have to link this his.  I started commenting on a pile of blogs saying I can't see your linky, they must think I'm mad!!!!  Right better be off, thanks for visiting.  Hugs Kerry xxx

Recipe
Inkpads - Brilliance (lightening black, starlite black, starlite silver)
Crafty Individuals stamps (CI - 141,363,168, 211, 017, 257)

WOYWW 182

Hi all, it's Wednesday which means it's time for my weekly addiction of What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday where all us crafter's get together to show our desks to each other. I'm rather late this evening so I shall get on with it lol

Die cuts I received from a die cut swap that the design team
had.  There are loads more dies I want now lol.
I haven't been well lately and had a lot gone off  thats
been upsetting.  Today I received from Annie (wipso), I was so
overwhelmed aren't they all gorgeous. Her and Jo (twiglet) have
an online shop if you ever want something beautifully
handmade :-)

Dumping desk lol, I really am trying to get inspired with Christmas,
I always love the run up to Christmas, but because I will
be off a week while healing after my injections which are on the 12th,
I don't feel very christmasy :-(

Think most people have seen these before but I was asked
by Sally who left a comment (she hasn't a blog) for a closer look :-)
Some of the promarkers missing are downstairs lol for sofa crafting.

Right I shall be off, hope everyone has a fantastic week.  Happy Woyww :-) Hugs Kerry xxx

Splash of Paint

Hi all, back again, which means Mr Mojo must slowly be returning and thankfully the cold is slowly disappearing lol.  I normally create in the evening and work in the morning (I work alot from home), but with all the pain (steroid injections in two weeks time hurray means I will be skipping by christmas lol) I have been getting up really early in the mornings.  Normally I watch TV but over the last few days I have spent in my craft room before getting kids up for school and working.  I purchased Trish Latimer's DVD create with paint earlier this year, actually I have also purchased quite a few online inky and painty workshops as well, and I love to watch them especially while ironing!!!!  So I have been itching to get inky again (still a beginner) and after two weeks of failed attempts I decided to get Create with Paint DVD out and work with Trish for the first project.  She was working on canvas but I decided to work on card as I expected my first few attempts to be bin fodder, well that was this morning and I was so impressed with myself I have made it into a card :-)

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges :-
                                           Artful Times - Anything Goes
Crafty Boots Challenge - Anything Goes
Creative Card Crew - Anything Goes

The background is all painted, then I stamped an Indigo Blu Sentiment on
tissue paper then mod podged it on the background.
The girl is stamped with black then clear embossing powder was added
on three times to make it look tiled, then cross stitched onto the background card.

I would advise anyone who wants to learn more about paint to make simple backgrounds to buy the DVD.  Right I'm off to do some more creating!!!! Thanks for visiting :-) Kerry xxx

Recipe
Stamps - Crafty Individuals (CI131), Indigo Blu (Discover your passion)
Inkpads - Colorbox pigment black and Archival jet black
Paint - Paperartsy Fresco paint (limelight, snowflake, little black dress), Decoart (turquoise, christmas red)
Gesso
Tissue paper
Modpodge
Wild Orchids (flowers)
Sequin waste

Mr Frosty

Hi all, I can't believe it's time for another challenge over at That Craft Place Challenge Blog, it's Carrie's turn as host and she has chosen No Squares Allowed, you can either enter via the challenge blog or our facebook page.
I really am disappointed with my creation this week, I haven't had any mojo lately, so I decided to get a few bits out.  The bits I got out were cool blues for christmas as I can't believe it's December next week EEK!!!. Getting everything out really helped and next thing I have so many ideas, I made my own embellishments, inked and embossed, used puff  and crackle paint and I so love the buttons I made from clay.  The only reason I'm not too happy as I feel that I overloaded it all onto one hanging and not sure it looks right :-(.
I would love to enter my hanging into the Frilly and Funkie Challenge which is chipboard (letters) and metal (bells).  The bells were normal silver ones that I put in a little back with stream alcohol ink and some stickles and left them for about two hours.

The letters are chipboard covered in white embossing powder 3 layers then a stamp with brilliance ink is stamped into the melted embossing powder.  The same stamp and ink was also stamped into white fimo clay to make the buttons before they were cooked.  The sides has puff paint then covered with frantage shaved ice before heating. For the snow word on the top circle I used a sparkle medium and a stencil from dylusions. I used crackle paint rock candy on the grungeboard snowman and then sprayed the cracks
after, I have seem Mr Tim Holtz use Distress stains but I only have 3 which were white, antique, burgundy colours which were not exactly the colours I wanted lol.
Right I shall be off, the other half is cooking sunday dinner and it smells gorgeous!!! I'm off to nosy lol.
Thanks for visiting, happy crafting. Kerry :-) xxx

Recipe
Stamps - Paperartsy (words 4), Stampers Anonymous Tim Holtz (reindeer flight)
Sprays - Adirondack colour wash (stream), Glimmer Mist (jazz blue), Dylusions (teal)
Sheena Douglas mountboard circles
Embossing Powders - WOW (clear, white)
Frantage shaved ice
Crafty Notions puff white paint
Sizzix Tim Holtz Winter Wonder die
Inkpads - Archival (jet black), Distress inkpad (broken china), Versamark, Brilliance (pearlescent sky blue)
Adirondack stream alcohol ink
Stickles - mix frosted lace, diamond, picket fence, broken china
White fimo clay and circle cutters
Distress crackle paint - clear rock candy
Paperartsy Fresco paint (snowflake)
Grungeboard
Dylusions - let it snow mask
Imagination crafts - sparkle medium diamond

WOYWW 181

Hi all, its Wednesday which means only one thing ........... it's time to share my desk with everyone over at WOYWW.  I cannot believe I haven't posted anything since last week. I have definitely been trying to craft and get inky every day, but everything has been bin fodder!!! lol. I have got a stinking cold so maybe Mr Mojo has disappeared in case he gets it!!!

So onto my desks .......................

As you can see my dumping desk is well dumped on this week :-)

My Paperartsy and Indigo Blu stamps that have yet to be
categorised and put in folders.  I am trying to get some ideas for
a DT piece I have to do :-)

Right that's it from me, I'm off to blow my nose for the thousandth time since this morning (I maybe slightly over exaggerating!!! lol).  Thanks for having a nosy :-)  Happy Woyww hugs Kerry xxx

WOYWW 180

Hi all, wow doesn't Wednesday come round quick, it's time to show your desks over at Whats on your workdesk wednesday.
Feeling a bit fed up with everything at the moment, when you feel like that you tend to not know what you want to do, so I have just got a few products out to play with :-)

Not much going, some pressed rose petals from my birthday when my OH
bought me a dozen roses :-)

I fancy doing a large tag hanging, with wrinkle free technique with my
distress inkpads, before that I am planning on stamping with versamark some
snowflakes, then sprinkle some masking fluid all over the tag. After adding
all the distress inks I shall rub masking fluid off and hopefully there
will be bits of white showing as if it's snowing.  I'm also planning on using
some chipboard snowflakes heat embossed, also stamped snowflakes
and also some frantage in areas :-) And if that all goes well
I shall make a panel in the middle, just not sure what of
I think it might be a crafty individuals image as they are gorgeous.

My pain injections are in four weeks today hurray, as you know I have been put on morphine, but it really made me feels so tired, so I have compromised and having it at night and trying to manage with my other painkillers in the day, and I only take it in the day if I'm so bad I can't move.  Because of this I am managing to craft again lol.  Right I better be off to play lol, thank you all for visiting and thank you so much for your lovely comments, at least I am more awake to look at other desks and make comments lol.
Happy Woyww :-) Hugs Kerry xxx

Encased Leaves

Hi all, just popping on with a tag that I have just finished.  On Saturday I picked some leaves from the trees in our garden, the colours were really enticing and they were at the point of falling. I put them all in a book and added lots of books on top, I went to check on them today and they looked gorgeous that I had to have a play. I had already done the backing paper as a masterboard in September and it had a real autumn feel, I heated some UTEE on my heat mat, then I added the leaves and sprinkled more UTEE on top.  When cooled I added some music paper to the back. The side of the tag was embossed with stamp bond then mega flakes rubbed over, the L ease a chipboard that has also had the same treatment.

I would like to enter my tag into the following challenges
Frilly and Funky - Tic Tac Toe (below) I used Metal, Chipboard,Lace
Crafting for all Seasons - Falling Leaves
Alphabet Challenge Blog - T for Tags

Better be off, time for bet lol.  I haven't done a recipe as I have already done one for the masterboard, but if you do want to know which post or what I have used then just leave a comment :-), thanks for visiting.
