Hi all, back again, which means Mr Mojo must slowly be returning and thankfully the cold is slowly disappearing lol. I normally create in the evening and work in the morning (I work alot from home), but with all the pain (steroid injections in two weeks time hurray means I will be skipping by christmas lol) I have been getting up really early in the mornings. Normally I watch TV but over the last few days I have spent in my craft room before getting kids up for school and working. I purchased
Trish Latimer's DVD create with paint earlier this year, actually I have also purchased quite a few online inky and painty workshops as well, and I love to watch them especially while ironing!!!! So I have been itching to get inky again (still a beginner) and after two weeks of failed attempts I decided to get Create with Paint DVD out and work with Trish for the first project. She was working on canvas but I decided to work on card as I expected my first few attempts to be bin fodder, well that was this morning and I was so impressed with myself I have made it into a card :-)
I would like to enter my card into the following challenges :-
Artful Times - Anything Goes
Crafty Boots Challenge - Anything Goes
Creative Card Crew - Anything Goes
The background is all painted, then I stamped an Indigo Blu Sentiment on
tissue paper then mod podged it on the background.
The girl is stamped with black then clear embossing powder was added
on three times to make it look tiled, then cross stitched onto the background card.
I would advise anyone who wants to learn more about paint to make simple backgrounds to buy the DVD. Right I'm off to do some more creating!!!! Thanks for visiting :-) Kerry xxx

this is brilliant - I love the idea of DVD's but finding the time to watch them is such a problem - but this one sounds perfect xx
Kerry that's stunning!!!! Gorgeous background you've done there, love the placement of all the elements, perfect! So glad you liked the DVD!! xxxxxxxxxxx
Oh, I'd say you've mastered the paint backgrounds quite nicely!! I love the colors you've used. Yep, I'd say you are ready for a canvas!!!
Hugs,
Kay
So love this card, Kerry! I've been debating about Trish's DVD, and thanks to you, it's definitely going on the Christmas list... what a wonderful background!
I should think any texture paste would do fine. The thing I learned from Leandra is that although it says not to use a heat tool, if you do, you get that extra raised effect from the Ferro blistering - so I don't know if that would work with all of them. But I've also read that you can mix puff paint with texture paste for a similar effect...

How nice to see those zingy colours on this card. Refreshing after the "C" ones that are everywhere. You have done a brilliant background - keep it up.
Thanks for joining us at Artful Times with this creation.
