WOYWW 169 (oops)

Hi all, eeerrrrmmmmmm it's Thursday, yep I have officially missed a day lol, so I am here with my quick WOYWW (what's on your workdesk Wednesday!!!), well the good news I have just took the photos and I had left my desk in this mess on Wednesday lol lol.  In the UK we have just had a bank holiday and it really does confuse the body/head sometimes lol.
So I have walked into my craft room this morning and my first thought was, surely I could not have left it like this, it's a real mess.  I am in the middle of doing a tutorial with acetate, promarkers and embossing powder and I think I gave up as it was too dark for the photos, it amazes me when I'm in art mode I just seem to put nothing away.  Somewhere under all the mess near my sewing machine is two canvases I am working on for a DT piece, I'm dreading moving the bits away in case I have ruined it oops.

Right I better be off and finish the tutorial and delve for my DT work before doing anything else lol.  I haven't been around much on my blog as I have been trying to spend lots of time with the kids before they go back to school next week, I guess that's when all the nice weather will return when everything is back to normal, typical british weather.
Hope you all have a fantastic crafty week, I'm hoping to get some new goodies as it's my birthday on Saturday.  Happy Woyww :-) Hugs Kerry xxx

Frantage Madness

Hi all, over at The Stampman Challenge Blog the challenge that is about to finish is Special Metals, I have only just got off holiday but a few hours ago decided to quickly do a tag with my new Frantage that I got from the Craft Fair at Castle Donnington last weekend.  Mrs Stampman was really nice and explained everything to me and I even got a cute frantaged bauble she did to show me how it works.

Will sort out the recipe for what I used tomorrow as I need to clean it all up before I can see what I used lol.  Got to go, see you tomorrow.  Thanks for visiting :-) Kerry xxx

WOYWW 168

Hi all, I'm back from my hols just!!! lol.  The thing with camping and me taking everything but the kitchen sink, is when we get back and it all needs putting it away. So as you can imagine most things are just dumped on my desk, also a pile of goodies from Sunday when my OH took me to the great british craft fair in Castle Donninghton.  It made me laugh the place is just around the corner from where we live, but because we were away we had to travel 45 mins!!! so we nipped home to drop the bits off.

As you can see lots of yummy goodies, box on right is just my fabric
scraps, the box on left is the promarkers I took which I now
have to put away eekkk

Most bits on here are from when I went away apart from the colour
swatches I have done.  While away I spent hours upon hours going through
each promarker in the colour groups and finding out what other promarkers
it blends with, I also did all skin tones and hair colours.  I made sure
I used every single pro/flex marker and also tried to
get to grips with the numbers on them, which correspond
to the tria marker, it's colour group, hue, saturation and luminosity!!!!
Yep I am now officially brain dead from it all, but will be sharing it over
my blog soon lol

I will refrain from showing you the floor and all the other bags and boxes full of craft bits to do while I was away, poor OH had to do the journey twice as I wanted more more more lol, actually due to unforeseen circumstances Ade had to work except for the weekend :-(.  Right I better be off, are you wondering what I have been harping on about for the last 5 mins!!! well it's Wednesday which means it's time to share all our crafty desks to the world, and link them up to the fantastic hostess of WOYWW Julia.  Thanks for visiting, it's great to be back. Happy WOYWW :-) Kerry xxx

That Craft Place - Vintage

Hi all, I'm scheduling this as I'm camping, so hopefully all we go ok lol.  Over at That Craft Place Challenge Blog the challenge this fortnight is Vintage.  I'm pretty new to vintage but really had a fab time doing this.  The only thing I would have changed if I had time is the image and the transfer I did I added crackle paint rock candy and it didn't really do it justice but hey ho, I'm leaving in an hour so it will have to do.  I went with the theme of old and used distress inkpad seedless preserve as if wine had dripped all over it.

All details are below of what I have used.  I shall be back on Wednesday (if it's Sunday and the post went up on the right day lol) so I shall be back that day with my WOYWW.  Unless they have internet there, but I'm pretty sure they don't lol.  I'm taking lots of colouring, a mini journal (first time), hoping to learn crochet as I'm taking a dvd, I have saved 25 craft magazines to read and some seed beads to have a go at flower embellishments :-) so lots to keep me busy.

Hope you have a fantastic crafty week. Happy crafting, thanks for visiting :-) Kerry xxx

WOYWW 166

Hi all, oops late again lol, how it can be Wednesday already I do not know, I have been sitting at my desk this evening and I kept thinking I'm sure I am missing something, thought it was a challenge I wanted to do and bump yep I realised.  How could I miss the delightful joys of WOYWW, where everyone shows their creative desks and is hosted by the amazing Julia.

I'm off camping next week and I don't think this time they have internet access, so I will probably miss next week, Oh no, not sure what I will do, probably be in a corner going wibble wobble lol lol.

Seems I'm late I shall get on with it lol

The sheet above is a course I'm taking by Christy Tomlinson, I having a go at colour and seeing inspiration, that's what the canvas is for.  As you can see I have found a picture from a magazine, and took some papers and paints that match so I can feel the inspiration sheet in.  The promarkers is a quick tutorial I am doing on the DT Blog I'm in, I am working with promarkers blending with alcohol solution on acetate then using holographic embossing powder to add sparkle.  I am really bad and Julia will probably shout, but I put the link of the blog up which will take you to my very first tutorial which is about stamping, fabric, colouring with promarkers, 34 pictures, you can tell I'm proud of myself, and wanted to share it all with you, naughty me.

Right I better zoom off, hope you all have a fantastic crafty week. Thank you so much for visiting. Lots of happy crafty hugs. Happy Woyww :-) Kerry xxx

Under The Sea - Mottled Promarker!!!!

Hi all, it's nice to have some time away from DT and tutorials (have you seen my first tutorial yet all to do with stamping and colouring with promarkers and other mediums on fabric 34 pics lol, if not you can see it here, nothing like selling myself lol).  Over at Passion for Promarkers the challenge this week is Under the Sea and hopefully I will just get time to enter.

I have wanted to have a go for awhile using promarkers on acetate and bringing in alcohol blending solution to see if I could get a mottled effect, and yep I managed it hurray.  I cut a tag out of plain white cardstock and then one from acetate.  I stuck some cheese cloth on the cardstock and pulled fibres out around the edge.  I used surf blue and navy blue flexmarkers and dabbed on the acetate, then dabbed the blending solution on, I did this around four times to give some depth, then I randomly laid holographic embossing powder in place then embossed from high up to avoid spreading the powder everywhere.  Laying this on the cheese cloth also made it looked cracked as you can see the cloth through the acetate in places.

I only had one mermaid stamp by Clarity stamps that I got a few years ago, I coloured her with duck egg, surf blue and navy blue flexmarkers and also did the skin in blush, oatmeal and cocktail pink. I kept laying down the colours to help get different shades.  Then I added glossy accents over all the bubbles and the fin.  Problem was it still seemed rather white, so I added versamark all over and embossed twice with the holographicm luckily it didn't seem to effect the glossy accents which was lucky!!!  Then I layered the promarker on top in areas and dabbed again with the blending solution, I was really impressed with this, I did do it on a spare piece of card as I wasn't sure if I could get the blending on the heated holographic powder but it worked thank goodness lol.

I have shown lots of close ups to see if you can see the effect :-)

Right I better go before it's too late to enter lol.  Have a nice evening, thanks for visiting :-) Kerry xxx

Fabric Delight

Hi all, it's time for another challenge over at That Craft Place Challenge Blog which is Things with Wings and this week we are being sponsored by Crafters Companion.  My DT piece was based on a tutorial I did a few days ago over on That Craft Place Blog which was all about stamping on fabric, this was my first ever tutorial and I managed 34 tutorial pictures, I would really love for you to take a look :-). Since going on my retreat with Artsycrafts I have become a real lover of fabric, and it seems to be on most creations that I do, over at Mojo Monthly Sarah is challenging us to What is your Style, I would love to enter this hanging as fabric is certainly becoming part of me :-).  I also would like to enter my piece to Simon Says Stamp and Show who is challenging us to What do you say, I love the sentiment - Songbird Fly by paperartsy as it reminds me of music and freedom :-).

Can you tell I have learned how to make my picture on here bigger lol, yep certainly in your face, but I am proud of it, I feel such an achievement to say that I wouldn't normally have ever used a sewing machine.  Best thing though is able to just randomly go all swiggley as I can't do straight with sewing, but it still looks not too bad lol.  The backing is a really tough piece of card I got in some packaging which I put TH washi tape around then dry brushed fresco paint on it (I love this stuff, the whole thing above was made with it, the backing, painting on fabric, on the flowers, metal and on acetate.  The bird which I learned from artsycrafts is using a bird die cut acetate and black card, stamp on the acetate, paint the flowers on the back, when dry add gold paint all over and then put black card on the back, the paint acts as a glue.

Wow I almost forgot to tell you about the DT call were having at That Craft Place, the deets are here, it's a fantastic place to design for :-).

Don't forget to check out that tutorial, I know I'm selling myself lol, but the shop blog at That Craft Place is really quite new, as we only have a few followers, so I'm sort of hoping some of my followers will go and take a look, it would be so great to get a comment as this really was my first tutorial and I would love to know if was ok :-)

Hope you all have a fantastic crafty week, I'm hoping to add a bit more on here this week, last week was spent trying to do the tutorial which I enjoyed but realised at some point you had to stop!!!!  Thanks for visiting :-) Kerry xxx

WOYWW 165

Hi all, I can't believe it, I'm doing my weekly addiction in a morning, normally I'm always late lol, wondering what I'm talking about ................ of course it's the weekly famous woyww (whats on your workdesk wednesday) where all us crafters get together and show our desk for the world to see, and this amazing weekly event is hosted by non other than Julia.
Can't believe the kids are back from their dad's tomorrow, I really have missed them but surprisingly it has gone fast, the first few days I felt lost and crafted quite a bit, then it sort of hit OH and I that this is the best opportunity to spend together, and wow we are having such a fantastic loving time.  As you know, we have been having difficulties with Brad my 13yr old son, but his dad and yvonne (stepmum) have really been working with him, giving us a break, and I really feel that the time spent together will make us alot stronger to cope with anything that is thrown as us.
So my desk this week, a bit of a mess lol, my spare desk has the bid fodder colouring on it, I decided to see if I could mask and spray around the Kraftin Kimmie I did, at first it worked brilliantly but I felt it wasn't close enough so I cut closer and reused the mask, big mistake, it was already wet and didn't mask much so I ended up with a blue freckled Kimmie, then I sprayed over her in a light brown seeing if I could get a good effect, nope it all went bad, so downstairs is another Kimmie being colouring lol.  I am impressed with the bottle top I have done ready for the card, at last I found the right circle punch and really enjoyed playing.

My working craft desk has the start of a tutorial, stamping on fabric.  On Friday (original post here) I did a less is more card and stamped on fabric and coloured with promarkers, I did alot of test stamping with different inkpads etc to see what would be best with the promarkers so I have decided to do a tutorial about it, try some paints as well for mine and also the design team blog I'm on, pretty new to tutorials but excited all the same, and nope not doing video just pictures, not sure I'm ready for that lol.

Right I shall be off, got some work to do, beds to change before kids get back, some tidying and ironing before OH comes back this evening as were off out for a meal.  Thank you to everyone who has been supporting me and my blog, I haven't visited much to others this week as been enjoying time with OH and I have read 4 books as well, I have a great love for reading, I enjoy a good James Patterson book and have enjoyed the time to be able to read, Monday I sat all day on the sofa in PJ's and read one whole book in 12 hours, how naughty is that!!!!  Thanks for visiting, have a great crafty week, Happy Woyww :-)
