WOYWW and Blog Candy

Hi all, it's Wednesday and that means is woyww by the lovely Julia, pop on over and show your crafty desk/mess lol. I can't believe how fast this week has gone, mind you I have had a really busy week.  My daughter has been in a pantomime and as you all know she has been ill with these stomach pains, so late nights with her, also been busy at work, dog got cystitis again so having to constantly open the door and all of this when my back is really bad and my left leg keeps giving away, I hope these steroid injections appointment comes soon (can't have them before 5th Feb as that will be 4 months).  And to top the whole lot off, Shannon has finally been diagnosed, her blood tests reveal she has Coeliac Disease.  I was gutted, she has got an appointment next Friday to see a gastro specialist but my doctor reckons they will want to do a biopsy, she has got a long road ahead of her, it certainly explains the tiredness, weight loss, blisters on her body and always catching every bug going.  Basically it means that her body, when gluten and wheat enter the small intestine, starts producing antibodies as it thinks that the gluten and wheat are viruses and it attacks itself, which means that they can be damage to the intestine.  We are not allowed to change her diet until we see the gastro specialist as her blood shows a really high level, which means they will want to do their own tests.  I can't believe 4 weeks ago the other doctors I sent her to wanted me to force weetabix and brown bread down her saying it was constipation!!!  Thought I would tell you all as I know you were all wondering.  If only when I took her to A&E 3 weeks ago they could have done a blood test but at least we know now, poor thing tonight she is really suffering with it (tuesday).
Blog Candy
Right now for the good news, I have been doing my blog for a year so I wanted to do some crafty candy.  What a nightmare that was, I went craft shopping on Monday and tried to get a variety of bits, but as I want to send all over the world I wanted it not to be mega heavy.  Only problem is on some of the bits I had to by twice as I really really liked them.  Its like the pink chain, it's in the candy as an excuse as I wanted some as well so I asked for 2 separate mtrs lol.  All I ask to be included is leave a comment, and then next week I shall reveal the winner which will be done via that random thingy if I can find it or via a hat at home lol.  I know sometimes people like you to become a follower, but I have decided that I would prefer you to follow if you like my blog not just for candy.  If you want to tell crafters on your blog then fab, if not that's fine too. The list of goodies I did try and get a random mix of bits............
Pink Chain, Tim Holtz Salvage Stickers Seasonal, Glitz roller doodles dots (bought one myself as well!!), Indigo Blue (2 of them one for me), Mic gems pink and blue (again same for me), 2 Lili of the Valley Stamps, Molly Bloom stamp, Dome postage stickers (look fab) and Studio K rub ons (and some for me) and the pic
And my 2 desks this week

And the next picture is showing you the mess on the floor of stamps and ribbon that I still need to sort, thought if I would show it on here maybe I will do something about....

Right I better go, it's been a long post and your all probably asleep by now, that's if you got this far and are still reading lol.  Hope you all have a crafty week Kezzy xxx

So glad they have diagnosed what your daughters problem is but not so glad about what it is. She will adjust I'm sure and will feel so much better once on a proper diet etc. Big hugs from me.

Hi there Kezzy, oh hard it must be for your DD - such a slow time to be diagnosed I was taken to Dr's when 15mths old and then they found out finally at 15 years so at least it is better than it was way back ten! but still makes it horrid for the little Vegemite. ..pray it will be fixed ASAP!
Now to the candy wow that is awesome - no idea what pink chain is but all looks so yummy crafty and simply lovely ! and so do the desks.
I hope your back/leg get attention soon! thanks so much for popping over, and for sharing. Happy WOYWW! Shaz in Oz. x #26

I know you must feel shellshocked about Shannon's diagnosis..but can I just tell you about my colleague, Stephanie. She's late 40s, the fittest person I know, always rushing around busy, busy.. and she's Coeliac. And honestly, you wouldn't know. So, take heart, at least you know what's wrong and can help your daughter tackle it. She will be fine :)

That's so devstating! But at least you now know what is the problem. My son used to cry continuously, wouldn't eat and wasn't gaining weight. What a nightmare was that one year. Then on our trip to India, the paeditrician diagnosed him with Rickets. Its a bone disease due to lack of vitamin D. Thank God that he was diagnosed early and we put him to medicine. It is really hard to see little ones suffering and not knowing what you can do to ease their pain.

Ah Kezzy I hate to hear your DD is still not feeling well. I read on Judes blog that her daughter is still sick also. SO not fair. Sorry to hear you are feeling poorly also. With ME/CFS and Fibromyalgia I can definitely feel your pain. Hope you can get your injections soon! Love your desk this week so busy! Blog candy sounds like a lot of fun. I might ought to do that also! Have a great week and thanks for sharing! Vickie #27

So sorry to hear about your daughter and the pain she has suffered, it is good now that she is diagnosed and you can start to learn about the condition and give her what she needs as she sounds as if she has got very poorly. I know how hard it is to get past the doctors surgery. Is your poor dog old? it must be suffering I would ask the vet about prevention and not just treatment.
The pic's of your desk show some great stash especially the mme papers and the card is lovely, I am going to get some Kraft. Also how kind is that of you to do candy especially when you have such worries, I hope the winner appreciates this. Have a great Wednesday, Laura

Thanks for sharing the photo of your floor as well. Instead of looking at it like a chore, think of it as an exciting archeological dig where you can keep and play with the finds. Your desks look busy, full of fun and good times. So good that your daughter has a diagnosis so she can start to feel better.

Tough diagnosis with your daughter. But at least you have a diagnosis and are not crazy! (My son is high functioning Autistic, and there were a couple trips where I was sure the docs were going to test me next! since I was the only one to see whatever). Elizabeth Hasselbeck from "the View" has Ceoliac's and I believe has a cookbook. Love the view of the desk! Glad that you treated yourself to some candy! Happy WOYWW #36 Amanda

Shannon's diagnosis is a shock, but believe me, she will start to feel better as soon as she can adjust her diet and then she'llbethefittest you've ever known, I have a couple of friends with celiacs and you just wouldn't know!!!
Meanwhile, your candy is very generous. I was just saying to a friend today that I really like the stamp seat you've used on the card, but I don't really like the F stamp. And then you make me change my mind with a fab card!

I'm glad that your daughter was finally diagnosed. I have a friend that is allergic to wheat (don't know if it's the same thing) and she does great by watching what she eats. Everything will be looking up from here on out.

You are so generous with your blog candy! I totally understand how you'd have to buy some of those goodies for yourself too!!!

Hi Kezzy,

I was looking at Lavinia's post about the Liebster Award and checking everyone's blogs. Isn't she so nice -- she also selected my blog for the award. Does that make us sisters?!?

I joined as a follower - let's watch our blogs grow together!!!

Oh poor Shannon, what a thing to have to go through. At least you have a diagnosis now and will be able to deal with it going forward, I know it's not what you wanted to hear but it's got to be better than not knowing at all. Your candy offer is fabulous, especially coming during such a busy time for you all, I mean, even the damn dog is sick!!! Beautiful friend card on your desk and what wouldn't I give to have a rummage under your desk!

sorry to read of all the health problems the family, and that's including the dog, are suffering from at this time. It seems awful, now that you know what is causing your daughter's pain, that she has to continue on the diet as normal - your immediate reaction would have been to simply cut out the wheat based foods, etc. I hope everything improves for you all now.

Your candy is lovely and I really enjoyed reading all about how you went about choosing it ... chuckled too when you said you had to have doubles, one for you, one for the giveaway - I went even further when I chose the kit for my recent giveaway because I bought a kit for me too :)

I hope you have a fun-filled weekend. Elizabeth x #45

Gosh, I am so late with my visits, this week, Kezzy, sorry about that.
What a time you are having, your poor daughter. Why does it always take them so long to sort out what the problem is. I think that causes more stress than actually being poorly in the first place. I hope she starts to feel better really soon.
Congrats on your Blogaversary, that was a mighty quick year. I've really enjoyed popping over to see what you've been up too. Lots of lovely things peeping out on your desk today as well.
A belated Happy WOYWW
Hugs Lisax
