Monster Inc Bookmark

Good evening, sorry it's been over a week, we have my Father In Laws funeral tomorrow so the last week has been busy.
Today I want to show you a bookmark I did for a swap.  I had so much fun with this, I can't actually remember what made me think of Monster Inc, I believe it was one of my new Stampotique monster stamps I wanted to use lol.  Everything I used is at the bottom of the post. :-)
I would like to enter the following challenges:-
Stampotique Challenge SDC268 - Add Ribbon or Lace - Sewed in ribbon between the front and back at the top of the bookmark so it feathers out brightly from the book it will be in.
That's Crafty Challenge - Just Words - I took the quotes from the book itself.
Simon Says Monday Challenge - Based On A Book - I used book paper behind the monsters, plus it's a book mark and Monster Inc was also a book :-)
Craft Stamper Magazine - Anything Goes Stamping (stamps I used are at the bottom of the post)
Mixed Media World - Anything Goes Mixed Media - I definitely used lots of different things, even felt which for me was different.  Plus lots of stencils, paint, watercolour pencils etc.

The swap was for two so each got a bookmark.
This is the front.  I will explain what I did later through the
close up pics.

The Back of the bookmarks

One showing back and one the front.  Luckily I had to make two lol, as
it's easier to put the pic on the link to challenges.
Backgrounds.......
Both are made from heavy primed canvas from a pad.  Soft enough
to sew but both together make it strong enough not to rip.
On the blue background is a mix of Paperarsty blue Fresco paints,
which was just added with brush.  Next I used a Finnabair circle stencil
with purple Fresco paints.  I added some Pebeo Dyna iridescent paint
with my finger on the top of the circles.  I used a journal pen to draw
around the circles.
The green background was pretty much the same except for the lime paint
was Dina Wakley and the green on the stencil background is Fresco paints,
using the Crafter's Workshop mini Blazony stencil.  I then filled in some of the
stencil parts with white and used black paint for eyeball using the Finnabair stencil.
I then used journal pens to draw around the eyes and the other stencil parts.

Before sewing both finished parts together I added some coordinating colour ribbons.
The Monster Inc emblem is made from stencil and sewing onto the background.
When I sewn the back and front together I use a bit of stuffing, really thin but to add
just a bit of softness.

On both the green and blue sides I used a mixture of Stampotique and Susana Loves Stamps.
They were stamped in Archival black and then coloured with Derwent Inktense Pencils.
I then re stamped them onto book paper that I had cut from book paper.  I then
added the monsters on top after I had sewn the circles onto the bookmarks.  I then added
googly eyes and some gems.
The wording was stamped from Stampendous Alphabet stamps onto book paper
edging.  These were added to the bookmarks and edged with black stabilo pencil.

I hope you have enjoyed my post this evening.  I really appreciate you taking the time to look.
Happy Art :-)

My condolences on the loss of your father-in-law. My heart goes out to you and your family at this difficult time.

Your tags are fabulous. I love that they're two-sided and that each side is different! Both feature lots of wonderful details and great coloring. So fun to see two of my favorite stamp companies represented.

Thanks for joining Stampotique Designers Challenges!

What fabulous tags, Kezzy - just love the texture of the canvas and your monsters look brilliant in both colour versions. I don't know why, but I haven't had any email notifications through about your posts til this one bobbed up - the mysteries of Blogger!

Condolences on your loss. Hope all goes well with the funeral.
