Spring

Hi all, sorry I have been awol this week, the good news is my mum is now home, the bad news is, it will take some time for her to heal.  The infection she had was a type of pneumonia infection, she is on so many tablets and oxygen at home :-( but she is getting there :-).
So it's time for another challenge over at That Craft Place Challenge Blog and this time we want to see Animals, this can include butterflies and birds.
Now I know I have had a bit of a mega busy week looking after Dad, taking him to hospital etc but I certainly went wrong somewhere lol.  I thought it was Easter and I wanted it to me the same theme as the Tando creative challenge which I thought was Spring, so I did a banner, hmmmmmmmmm yep I was wrong with both, it was Animals for my DT and Tando was Flowers lol, luckily I have both on the banner lol lol.

I would like to enter my banner into the following challenges -
Tando Creative - Flowers - I used the Tando banner and a mask.  I really would advise anyone to have a go with their products, they take all inks and paints fantastically.

Lots of pictures lol

Yep the worse picture out lol, it was late last night
my DT piece was late and I couldn't get a decent picture lol

Close up of the back ground, all of them are
the same just different stamps/colours.

Just another angle lol

Another close up :-)

And another lol :-)

Right I better be off, hoping to be able to craft so much more this week :-)
Happy Easter :-)

WOYWW 199

Hi all, yep a little earlier today, I only worked for a couple of hours this morning lol so thought I would quickly do woyww before I go to the hospital! Mum has been suffering with a really bad chest infection and dad rang last night saying he couldn't wake mum, I dashed around and he had managed to wake her but she was jerking and incoherent. I phoned the ambulance and to cut a long story short, her temperature was really really high and her infection had spread through her body to her kidneys.  Did you know that a simple urine infection can send you dolally!!! The paramedic said that a extremely bad one can make a person not recognise anybody or anything, wow. So I am on afternoon shift taking dad, my sister on evening taking dad.  She should be out in a couple of days, she already looked a bit better last night after all the intravenus antibiotics they pumped into her.  Lets hope she is talking to me today lol, my sister and dad was in resus last night with her as she wasn't talking to me as I phoned the ambulance!!! I sat outside.  A few years ago mum broke her ankle, well destroyed her ankle and ended up in hospital for over a month so she did not want to go :-(
So anyway I'm waffling, last night I was crafting before the call and my desk is just as it was last night, apart from a uptown girl stamp I used this morning to colour for a bit (keep me awake actually as it was a very very late night).  I was doing it for the Dragons tag on challenge but it's now finished, I like where it is going so going to continue tonight with it.
Also after my desk pictures, I have an update of my craft room, I have done some sorting!!! Talking of desks, its Wednesday which means it's time for the amazing What's on your desk Wednesday hosted by the amazing Julia :-)

Julia I have sorted my distress ink pads, thank you for your
wonderful idea :-)
My new gelli plate that came on Monday, not used it yet.
The desk was tidy before I started crafting last night lol

Everything still where I left it this morning apart
from the uptown girl Easter stamp, thought
I better colour up the Easter images I have before
it's gone lol

Promarkers now downstairs and I have sorted out this
little boxes to store black inkpads and some left over
paint and sprays

Moved all my inkpads and now my paints, sprays, alcohol inks
and stickles are on there :-)

Inkpads all sorted, I have just finished labelling the Distress ink pads
and shall start on the archival and adirondack ones after some
crafting time.  Also I got my big and juicy out as I always
forgot about them as they were in a drawer.

Right I better go and get ready, at least this has helped me keep busy while I waited for the time to go, I just want to see how mum is doing and I'm sure I will feel so much better then I can stop wondering around and get things done lol. Mind you I'm not walking great with my back and legs after the hospital visit, it was a quarter of a mile to her ward from a&e, eek.  Lets just say I'm filling a bit tender and am definitely taking my crutch today, I had being in public with it but it's a hospital, maybe I will blend in :-)
Happy woyww

WOYWW 198 (lots of pics of messy craft room!!!)

Hi all, it's Wednesday which means it's time to show your crafty desks at What's on your desk Wednesday which is hosted by the famous Julia :-)
I have had a lot of questions about certain areas in my craft room so I thought I would do lots of pictures of everything.  I am putting my desks first so if you are in a rush you can peep at my desk only lol.

From last nights tag, eek I have to peel and scrap the
red and gold embossing powder off lol

New stamps from America that cost me £3.11 for customs
and £8 handling charge Grrrrrr
The paints out are needing a home, think I need to swap bits
about as my paints are now overflowing from the shelve lol

Living room, think I need to sort out my magazines!!!!

My sofa craft, colouring and my new love crochet :-)

Dining room - trying to stamp and laminate sheets
for storing in folders - I seem to be speading around
the house lol lol

Floor, I am determined to start sorting out my stamps,
I have time off at Easter so I am in need of clearing up.
Also the box on the floor full of ribbon, washi tape and gems
to be put away all new but not yet sorted.

More sorting needed to be done eek,
all my gorgeous 8by8 and 6by6 paper pads are kept
in the black shelves along with white card, tags etc

Yep I still haven't cleaned this lot up yet

More ribbons, and bits on top of my promarkers.
I have decided to clear a shelve in the dining room to store
my promarkers as I tend to colour while on sofa especially
if my back is poorly.  When in my craft room I want to get inky.
This way when I need a colour I can nip in the other room
not have to yell for someone to bring it down (when bad back, other
times I go get it lol I'm not that lazy lol)

My ribbon fetish really has to start calming down,
mind you I made another order at ribbon girl today for some
more, must stop, must stop, must stop lol

These are my shelves on one side of the room

Where my stamps are stored in folders, I have at least another
10 folders worth to sort out eek

Where my dies are kept, these so need sorting, I have
some magnetic sheets to make it neater.
Not sure how to store my Tim Holtz dies though :-)

My punches and 12by12 papers.  The red boxes are
my accounting work I do at home :-)

Under neath my desk, not a fab picture but you can see
it needs storing.  The Paperartsy bag has unfinished
bits from the last Artsycrafts.  I want to finish it but
I never seem to find the right time, I need to complete them soon
as it was almost a year ago.

Gems, and other bits

Flowers and pan pastels on top

Closer look at the blue drawers on my desk, I'm often asked
what are these.  This one is for bits and bobs

This one is for buttons and at the top brad and eyelets in metal,
white and black

This one for the rest of paper candy, eyelets, brads
and bits and bobs in the same colours :-)

More flowers, pens, the top is flowers, bottle tops, wire,
chain, feathers, pom poms, dried flowers and false leaves.
Also on there some fimo

Yep I really need to work out some more room,
I'm hoping moving my promarkers downstairs means
I can move some bits to that side of the desk eek.
Also hanging are swatches of inks and embossing powders,
I really need to update them though lol

Craft DVD's and CDroms
My iron for clothes (I do the ironing in the craft room) and
the other iron is for craft.

This is one view of my craft room, you can just about
see my pink ironing basket.  My workdesk which needs a sort,
I have a pile of work on there from earlier on. The carry bag
on the floor is some accounts I picked up from the off, talk about
carry bag accounts lol.
The other side is the same room but is my partners, he
has lots of computers and does a lot of work on them for a hobby.
This room used to be 2 double bedrooms hence why it's so big.

This is my side the craft room lol.  Its such a mess, I hate mess,
even in the house I keep everything tidy, and when I can't walk
with my back you can still see me hoovering while walking with a
crutch. But for some reason I am a messy crafter, my sister loves it,
she is older then me and is definitely the messy one and I always
used to go and sort out for her but now she laughs when she
sees my craft room :-)

Right, better go, that is if you got this far lol lol.  Hope I didn't bore you too much. If you want a closer look at anything just shout and I will make sure I take a picture :-)
Happy Woyww :-)

Frilly and Funky Challenge

Hi all, just been playing this evening and had a go at the challenge over at Frilly and Funky which is William Morris Style,  they gave you some inspiration pictures and I based mine (loosely I may add lol) on this picture -

I used a damask stamp using distress inks and then clear
embossed it.  Then I covered the whole tag with faded jeans,
next I used water to highlight the middle of the images
(took away with water).
Then I used stamp n bond embossing powder for the
edges and covered them in ink.
I used a leaf stamp, embossed in gold, coloured with
distress markers then cut out.

The birds where chipboard which I covered in versamark,
embossed in a dark red then added flicks of gold embossing
powder.
I wish I hadn't of gilded the edges as I feel it was too much, also too many leaves lol.

Right I shall be off, it certainly was a challenge and I have to admit I enjoyed playing this evening :-)
Happy Crafting :-)

Wedding Card (eeek I really don't do wedding cards lol)

Hi all, it's time for a new challenge over at That Craft Place and the challenge for the next fortnight is Wedding.  Now I have to admit I try and avoid Wedding cards, I just never seem to know what to do lol.  I decided to make a 8by8inch card, you know, to keep it easy lol.  I have almost all of the distress inks, and I never seem to use them, I see so many beautiful backgrounds done with them so I decided to have a go.
I used tumbled glass to colour a piece of paperartsy stamping card, then I stamped an Indigo Blu flourish and script and I have to admit I absolutely love the soft effect it has given :-)

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges -
                  Fashionable Stamping Challenge - Swirls
One Stop Craft Challenge - Anything Goes
Alphabet Challenge - C for coveted - The heart button on the chiffon flower. I bought these a few years ago, they were 3 types in a packet and I'm loathe to use them, I'm thinking of still taking it off, I sewn it on just in case lol, mind you the kids want to give it to their dad who is getting married in a couple of months, but I might change the button so this is definitely coveted lol

I used chiffon fabric to make my flower

You can see some of the background here

The words where cut on my cricut and then
covered with Frantage embossing enamel.

Right I shall be off, I have scheduled this as I never post at 9 in the morning lol.  A lot of my products came from the amazing That Craft Place Shop which is run by Lisa :-)
Happy Crafting

The Craft Barn - Alpha Challenge Ma

Hi all, just popped on to enter my dictionary page in the Alpha Challenge over at The Craft Barn and the challenge this fortnight was Ma or Me.  I chose Ma for MAZE.  It was going really well at the beginning of the week, I had learned how to do a transfer by putting loads of gel medium onto a page, keep doing it to make it plasticky and then rub the paper off, problem was I didn't get all the paper off so it isn't as see through and then the second problem was I had been working on my page so when I stuck the transfer on I tried to blend it in and it went mega awful, the more I tried the worse it got, so I tried to bring the maze out of the box by drawing my own maze and that went awful lol. But I don't mind it's how we learn lol lol

You can just about see maze lol

Right I shall be off,  I shall be back tomorrow as I have a DT card to show :-)
Happy Crafting

Paperartsy Inspiration - Sewing Tin

Hi all, just popped on to enter the inspiration challenge over at Paperartsy and the designer this week is the amazing Helen Chilton.  As you may have guessed by now I am addicted to Fresco paints, they do everything lol, but this week Helen shows us that it works brilliantly on metal as well, I'm not surprised lol, anyway she painted on a tin.  She is using the sewing themed stamps that they bought out last year, now I bought them last June when I attended a full weekend at Artsycrafts but have not yet used them, shock horror I know, so this time I got them out and altered a tin to make a sewing kit for when we go camping :-)

All ready for camping :-)

I painted fabric with fresco paint to stamp on then backed it with denim

Close up ....... Yep I managed to get the reel border and the bottom reel upside down
OOps lol

Right I shall be off, hopefully will be back tomorrow with something I'm working on :-)
Happy Crafting :-)

WOYWW 197

Hi all, I can't believe I have missed 2 weeks of woyww, I'm afraid mojo went on holidays, life got in the way a bit as well when a huge argument parted my best mate and I.  She is the best thing that happened to me out of family life and I feel like I have lost part of myself, worse thing is I should have fought harder and tried to resolve it, but I'm afraid I have always hid away from confrontation which led to more misunderstanding and a lost friendship that will never repair.  Its been 3 weeks tomorrow since it happened and I'm only now trying to get on with things, I so miss her, we used to talk for hours and she always said how it was, she guided me through really tough times and she was and always will be like a sister to me, I love her so much still and it's so hard.
Anyway I shall carry on, I have been trying to spend time in my craft room over the last few days and finally I have got a messy desk to show over at What's on your workdesk Wednesday where everyone shares their creative desks and which is hosted by the amazing Julia :-)

A mess lol, my sewing machine last time I used it (over
3 weeks ago) was playing I'm not working and going to mess
all the back of your work up with meters of cotton, has got
some new needles on it waiting to be changed. Not sure it's going
to solve anything.  If I could have Wipso aka Annie's or Twiglet aka Jo's
mind just for a few hours, oooo the sewing knowledge lol.
Also a pile of bits and bobs, lots of new bits hiding as well, my
partner tried buying me crafty items over the last few
weeks to tempt me back in the craft room :-)
My journal for the alpha challenge over at the craft barn is also lurking,
the maze you see there is actually a printed sheet that I have
piled loads of medium gel on it, then scrubbed all the paper off the back,
it's still got a bit of paper lurking so still needs some finger scrubbing.

A tin lid I am working on for the amazing inspiration
challenges over at Paperartsy and this weeks its designer
Helen Chilton and she has been painting on a tin so I was
instantly inspired to give it a go :-)
All on my desk is me working on that, my desk was
clear this morning for my accounting work and this evening
my back wouldn't allow me a full evening of crafting so
my desk didn't manage to get too messy.
See the bag on the floor an old rymans bag?  that is full of
stamps waiting to be put in folders, also hidden are piles more,
I really need to get on with it lol

Right I shall be off, I'm slowly trying to get around to visit lots of bloggy mates, so if you could bear with me, and also I will get my 2nd year blog candy sorted soon, I shall be having 2 I think being it 2 years.  One shall be arty as I love canvas, paint etc and the other will be my second love which is cute and girly so keep an eye out over the next few weeks :-)
Happy Woyww :-)
Hugs Kezzy xxx
