Just Add Ink

Hi all, mega late this evening, my mojo disappeared for the last few days but has slowly returned in bits (if that's possible) lol.  This week over at Just Add Ink the challenge is Just Add Kathy Tanner and wow her cards are amazing, I mean really really stunning, and I chose around 6 cards after going through all of the archives!!!  I was hoping to start the card last night but I spent around 2.5hrs on her blog lol, this means that I felt I was rushing tonight and I picked what I thought was the easiest card, but ended up trying to work how to emboss on the corner without making a mark which I gave up, then I tried 14 butterfly punch/dies and couldn't get 4 different size, then I decided to only do a 2 colour scheme which didn't work well and then to top it up I overloaded the poor card with so many butterfly's that I'm surprised it still stood up!!! lol.  I've decided to still enter as I'm hoping Kathy realises how fab her cards are, go and have a look but make sure you have plenty of time lol.

WOYWW and Blog Candy

Hi all, it's Wednesday and that means is woyww by the lovely Julia, pop on over and show your crafty desk/mess lol. I can't believe how fast this week has gone, mind you I have had a really busy week.  My daughter has been in a pantomime and as you all know she has been ill with these stomach pains, so late nights with her, also been busy at work, dog got cystitis again so having to constantly open the door and all of this when my back is really bad and my left leg keeps giving away, I hope these steroid injections appointment comes soon (can't have them before 5th Feb as that will be 4 months).  And to top the whole lot off, Shannon has finally been diagnosed, her blood tests reveal she has Coeliac Disease.  I was gutted, she has got an appointment next Friday to see a gastro specialist but my doctor reckons they will want to do a biopsy, she has got a long road ahead of her, it certainly explains the tiredness, weight loss, blisters on her body and always catching every bug going.  Basically it means that her body, when gluten and wheat enter the small intestine, starts producing antibodies as it thinks that the gluten and wheat are viruses and it attacks itself, which means that they can be damage to the intestine.  We are not allowed to change her diet until we see the gastro specialist as her blood shows a really high level, which means they will want to do their own tests.  I can't believe 4 weeks ago the other doctors I sent her to wanted me to force weetabix and brown bread down her saying it was constipation!!!  Thought I would tell you all as I know you were all wondering.  If only when I took her to A&E 3 weeks ago they could have done a blood test but at least we know now, poor thing tonight she is really suffering with it (tuesday).
Blog Candy
Right now for the good news, I have been doing my blog for a year so I wanted to do some crafty candy.  What a nightmare that was, I went craft shopping on Monday and tried to get a variety of bits, but as I want to send all over the world I wanted it not to be mega heavy.  Only problem is on some of the bits I had to by twice as I really really liked them.  Its like the pink chain, it's in the candy as an excuse as I wanted some as well so I asked for 2 separate mtrs lol.  All I ask to be included is leave a comment, and then next week I shall reveal the winner which will be done via that random thingy if I can find it or via a hat at home lol.  I know sometimes people like you to become a follower, but I have decided that I would prefer you to follow if you like my blog not just for candy.  If you want to tell crafters on your blog then fab, if not that's fine too. The list of goodies I did try and get a random mix of bits............
Pink Chain, Tim Holtz Salvage Stickers Seasonal, Glitz roller doodles dots (bought one myself as well!!), Indigo Blue (2 of them one for me), Mic gems pink and blue (again same for me), 2 Lili of the Valley Stamps, Molly Bloom stamp, Dome postage stickers (look fab) and Studio K rub ons (and some for me) and the pic
And my 2 desks this week

And the next picture is showing you the mess on the floor of stamps and ribbon that I still need to sort, thought if I would show it on here maybe I will do something about....

Right I better go, it's been a long post and your all probably asleep by now, that's if you got this far and are still reading lol.  Hope you all have a crafty week Kezzy xxx

Gingersnap Creations - Soft Yellows and White

Hi all, hope your having a fantastic weekend.  It's Sunday again, and as you know every week I have been playing the challenge over at Gingersnap Creations, which this week is soft yellows and white.  Now I did think of doing a card, but decided to carry on with my journey of the unknown and create something that isn't a card which I like to do with this challenge, so this week I have created a bird cage on a pedestal.  To start with I got all my yellows together to see what I had got.  I used to ribbon holders large and small and took off the tops and bottoms.  I then got a selection of yellow papers together and even some yellow postage stamps, I then stamped birds and swirls in a light yellow and ripped all the papers and then decoupaged them on the base with modpodge.  I think you can see how I did the rest, oh I did emboss the flowers with enchanted gold to give it a yellow sparkle look :-).  Can you believe I have been a Gingergem for 2 weeks and then last week I was the homepage artist, I'm so honoured, I even showed my mum on my phone lol.  I have won a prize so I need to email, but I am going to ask them to pass it to someone else as I don't think with postage costs that they send to the UK and to be honest just being the homepage artist was priceless (as they say lol).  Ok ok I guess your saying shut up and show us the pic so here goes ...............
I'm so happy how it turned out, the wire is a bit bent, I could have done with stronger wire on the outside but I didn't have yellow or white lol.  Thank you so much Gingersnap for really inspiring me to create art (or almost art as some of mine are a bid dodgy lol).  Thanks for looking :-) Kezzy xxx

WOYWW 137

Hi to you all, were has the week gone!!! I'm sure it can't be that time again were we all share our crafty desks over at Julia's woyww blog (also link on sidebar).  Ok so I have just left my crafty desk, it's Tuesday night at 10.15 and I'm scheduling my post, love being able to do this thanks to Julia's email helping me :-), my desk is messy with a challenge I'm doing for JAI which I have to finish and get it on here by 1pm tomorrow lol.  I'm late this week as it's been top up acupuncture week, it really works for me and helps me cope with walking between steroid injections, I'm quite sensitive to it and it wipes me out a bit like flu.  This morning there I am with 30 needles sticking out of my back and legs, I'm lying there on my front with my crafty mags, which I read while they stay in for half hour, now if  your in the UK you will know how cold it's been, and the nurse (bless her) gets a blanket to put over me, she couldn't understand why I was mortified, I know it's safe but all I kept thinking was how the blanket would be almost like a hammer and I could imagine needles being lost forever in my body, you would think by now that I have got used to it after 2 years, also I love going as just around the corner from the hospital is a crafty shop and OH always takes me into there for a treat, I reckon its because I always ask if he will come in the room while I have the acupuncture done and basically is a mega shake of head and a trip for a crafty treat (wink wink) lol lol.
My first pic is of my dumping desk, I wish I had taken a photo a few days ago as I had sorted it, well almost!!! this pic is also for Crafty Elf who last week is trying to help us ribbonolics, and I'm afraid as you can see, I went to a craft shop today and market on Saturday and ribbon popped into my basket again lol, but they were great value!!! 30p and 75p for the anita rolls WOW

the brown ribbon is spilling from the jar, the colours and rolls are new!!!
and for my card in process
So there we are, the usual mess, the usual essay (I always have so much to say to you all lol) and possibly the usual spelling mistakes, I do spell check but if the word isn't there I just ignore and put it in anyway, I reckon I have made up so many new crafty words!! lol.
I visited quite a few last week but as you know my commenting on my ipady thingy has not been working, so finally OH sorted it at the weekend, then I sat there ready to go back and make comments and would you believe it, blogger has been messing about, I know it sounds like another excuse (lol) but truthfully it's gone funny on some blogs, now some of you may have received an email from me that I got explaining how to rectify it, the blog you go to is here, it's someones blog (sorry I forgot her name) but it seems to work. Almost forgot, I have been a GingerGem for the last two weeks and this week I am a Ginger Gems homepage artist with this piece I did here, over at the Gingersnap Creations Blog, I'm so excited :-).
I hope you all have a fantastic and messy crafty week, look out, next week I'm hoping to have sorted my blogiversary candy.  Thanks for sharing.  Kezzy xxx
P.S I would appreciate some if anybody could give me ideas for blog candy as I'm sure you don't all want me to buy ribbons and buttons (which I would have to buy X2 one for candy one for me!! lol)

Gingersnap Creations - Candelabras. Chandeliers and Candles

Hi all, yet again I'm late with my Gingersnap Creations challenge as it finishes in a few hours.  This week the challenge is candelabras, chandeliers and candles, now I had a really good idea, but putting into practise was a nightmare, I tried to make a small candelabra but it just wasn't going right, the idea in my head was no way working with my hands lol and in the end yesterday I thought forget it and gave up.  This afternoon I had a change of mind and decided that this is why I do gingersnap creations to make art and even though its not perfect, I'm proud of it (well sort of lol).
I love the sentiment, and I believe it's very true, mind you I feel my journey of art is my ornament and my friends are definitely my blog buddies and all the fantastic blogs who help us achieve art that we wouldn't normally try, gingersnap creations definitely takes me out of my cute cardmaking zone lol.

Woyww 136

Hi to all the crafters participating in woyww this week, if your wondering what I'm on about, go on push the woyww button on the side and be whizzed off to an array of colourful crafty blogs who like to share their mess ultra clean desks!!! and of course it's hosted by the amazing Julia.  This week my desk is a mess, I keep on trying to sort bits, but then get side tracked by crafting doh!!!  I'm just finishing my design piece which I have covered with a punch and some gems lol, I just grabbed what I could find :-)
How I manage to create in this mess I never know, but I just keep grabbing bits I need and just moving the rest to the sides, and the ribbon I just part emptied the jar looking for some new ribbon, which was hiding on the other desk ready to be filed away lol, and as I'm addicted to buttons and ribbon, as you can see there are some new buttons on my desk from the market, how yummy are they.  The next pic is just as bad lol
See!!! complete junk yard of yumminess (junk and yummy in one sentence doesn't quite go does it lol), I keep thinking to myself if I put it on the desk then I will have to sort out the place they will finally be going, the only problem is, I'm not so sure it's working lol.  The OH has promised that he will look at my ipady thingy equivalent (they call them tablets but I can't get used to that as I'm on so many tablets for my back I start getting confused, yep I'm that easy to confuse, one day you might find me on my sofa chewing my tablet ipady thingy. lol lol lol) where was I oh yes my ipady thingy is not allowing me to comment and seems I blog alot while on sofa when I am in pain, its been quite frustrating.  I have managed to comment on a few from my upstairs computer while working but when I'm up here I work or create (more creating than working lol).  I'm finding alot of crafters have had mojo problems and I'm so lucky as mine is staying put at the mo (shhh or he will here me and disappear).  I think it's because of being on my first design team and also I am enjoying entering challenges, I also think sorting helps as I see lots of bits to play with.  To all of those mojoless, I hope for a very quick return.  Thank you everyone for all your support and comments.  Thanks for sharing.  Kezzy xxx Quick note, spell check's not working so any spelling mistakes is bloggers fault!!!! lol lol xxxxx  Another note - It's been a year today that I started blogging!!!  I really believed it was the end of the month which I was planning on doing some giveaway candy, so I'm afraid my first year celebrations will be a little late and I will keep the plan and do it at the end of the month lol.  And now blogger spelling check works!!!! xxxx

Gingersnap Creations - Wax

Hi, I have spent all day working on budgets and invoicing which are due into work tomorrow, in between working I made a hanging piece that I had started last night for the Gingersnap Creations challenge of wax, it was quite nice having art breaks to help me through the work I had to do.  It is the first time I have ever made a collage, and to be honest I'm not sure you can actually tell it was a collage, but I thoroughly enjoyed making it.  Under all the paint, texture paste, stamping and wax I stuck on patterned papers and quotes from a magazine and dictionary quotes. And I so enjoyed melting all the wax crayons around the side with micro beads to give texture and before I did that I shaved wax bits all over to give a great spotty appearance, having not done this before it really was a breathe deep moment when I was putting the heat gun on the wax, as it could have been a mess lol.  I'm really loving being part of Gingersnap creations as it really is helping me explore different mediums that I shyed away from.  So here is my hanging (took a close pic so you can't really see the white and pink wire that attaches to it for it to hang)...

Hope your having a nice crafty weekend. Thank you for looking.  Kezzy xxx

Crafts 4 Eternity - Random Recipe

Hi ya, over at Crafts 4 Eternity blog, the challenge this week is using a quote.  I'm late again this week as I've spent yesterday and today trying to work out what to do, I had loads of quotes but couldn't for the life of me get the inspiration to come out with something, in the end I picked a new paper pad I had (details below) and only used the papers, eventually I came out with the below card, I'm afraid because of the mega bright colours I used I couldn't get a decent pic, the quote says 'when life gives you lemons, make lemonade'.

Sorry about the wonky picture lol.  Thanks for looking.  Kezzy xxx

WOYWW 135

Hi ya, ok I'm late as I thought it was Tuesday!!!  (that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it lol), I'm still going through last weeks woyww's wishing everyone a Happy New Year, so this week I will be checking up on two posts lol, I'm determined to wish everyone a fab 2012 even if it takes until December (only joking), actually I have been around a lot of desks already, but I visit while on my sofa with my Ipad equivalent, as my steroids have run out and I'm having a few really bad back days, and last week I have enjoyed all the new christmas stash everyone got, my problem is my ipad thingy is having a few hitches and keeps loosing what I've written after I have pressed make comment, the OH is going to re-install and update it which will hopefully sort out everything. I have been sorting bits and bobs and moved some craft bits around as my craft room is not working for me at the mo, but this sorting will take awhile as I have promised myself to still blog and craft between sorting.  I have got some pics below of my stash I've sorted (well almost sorted), my desk still has bits of unsorted stuff on it, and my other desk has got some fab papers that I'm about to craft with.  I have spent the weekend and the last few days doing my DT work, I found it really hard to start with as I wanted it to be my best work, but obviously there are certain images and themes you have to work with.  Check back on Saturday for my first piece (i'm so excited, I need to learn how to pre time a post so it goes on first thing in the morning, maybe I shall have a word with Julia).  I've now got the woyww link on my sidebar (will have after I do it after this post so if it goes wrong I shall be editing this bit lol lol) so if you would like to share your crafty space than click the woyww and you shall be transported (I hope) to Julia's blog and an assortment of fantastic desks (if you end up anywhere but stamping ground blog than I so have got it wrong).  Right some pics .......
My ribbons and sprays etc are now stored on shelves so I can reach and see them better.

My new storage for promarkers, which the idea has been around
a few blogs which I found while googling, mind you they all got them from
ikea but I don't think they sell them anymore, I went everywhere trying to find some
and ended up getting these from Amazon, if you want to know which they are just
comment me and I shall send a link.  They also fit my sakura pens and aqua markers.
My colouring are altogether now (apart from pencils which are on the shelve under the desk),
I still need to put the promarkers tabs on the dvd's.

These are the papers I'm just about to make a card with
for craft 4 eternity challenge blog which is quotes (I shall
be using boys and their toys quote lol)

Right I'm off to start and finish the card as the challenge runs out tomorrow.  Hope you have a fab crafty week.  Thanks for sharing. xxx

Happy New Year to you all, I hope you have a very healthy and happy 2012.  Below are my crafty resolutions but first off I am entering the following gift pockets that I made for christmas day to the Just Add Ink challenge blog which was gift/wraps, my sister wanted some gift cards to put lottery instant cards in for a gift on the christmas table, I decided to pinch the idea and did the same for mine, so all together I ended up doing 20 of them.  I just managed to finish at the last minute on christmas eve hence the quick pics, in others words I dumped them on the table and went click click with my camera lol.
Ok so now my new years crafty resolutions, here goes:
1 - This year I would like to blog at least 3-4 times a week (around 200 over the year).
2 - To spend time stamping and learning new techniques (rather than shying away from stamping lol).
3 - Have a go at journalling.
4 - Have a go at doing Sheena Douglas paint fusion.
5 - Do a colour mood board (actually doing it in a journal) at least once a month as I always struggle with colour.
6 - Comment more and support other blogs, I love receiving comments but feel I could comment more to others.
7 - Learn to colour using different mediums and spend time practising shadowing and blending.
8 - Have a go at altered art and collage.
I'm sure I had 10, next time I should write them down lol, you can guaranteed the minute it posts I will remember lol.

I would like to say thank you again for everyone who supported me throughout 2011 and I can't wait to carry on this wonderful blog journey during 2012.  Kezzy xxx
