Hi all, just nipping on to show you what I have done for the
Paperartsy Inspiration challenge, the designer this week is
France Papillon and wow you so need to go over to the
Paperartsy Blog and have a look at everything she has done this week, she really has inspired me. The first day she did a book cover, I have took most of the ideas she did so please nip over there and be inspired. I won't tell you exactly what I did as you can find it all over on the Paperartsy blog, but all the Paperartsy stamps and fresco paints you can find in the details at the end.
This saying is one of the first Paperartsy stamps I ever bought,
it is from Squiggly Ink Bricks and Mortar 2.
I bought it as it made me smile, I was new to stamping and
admired so many artists and thought to myself
maybe one day will I wake up and know
I have succeeded in becoming a good stamper.
Then a few months ago, yet again I looked at it and
I was teaching myself how to crochet and I thought
to myself, maybe one day I will wake up and feel like
I have succeeded crochet. I have never ever
actually used the stamp. Lately I feel (thanks to alot of designers who
have inspired me and helped me) that my stamping is going somewhere
and I feel that at last I can crochet (not brilliant lol).
It was time to use the stamp :-) on a book that hopefully will
become an idea and thoughts book on art and on my book cover
is a little crochet flower I have made, yep I admit I have used
a big brad (altered by me) but I only wanted a hint of it and
what is important is that I know it's there :-)
Close up. I have a love hate with crackle, it doesn't
matter what I use I tend to get it wrong, I can't decide if I'm just too heavy
handed or too impatient lol. I used South Pacific Fresco paint on some
calico and used the Fresco crackle. Then *Wait for it* I left it all night,
I kept wanting to grab hold of it and use a heat gun but I know I would
ruin it lol. Well it paid off, I added Vintage Lace over the top and
their is my lovely crackle, mind you I wish I had bigger ones lol.
Before I stamped the saying I used backgrounds 6 by Paperartsy on it using
an archival aquamarine ink pad, and then I attacked the edges lol.
The flower (crocheted by me *blushes*) had a brad added on top
that had been painted with Bora Bora (in love with this) and
the script stamped on from the little flower on HP1008.
The little tag was die cut from Tim Holtz sizzix, the texture on it
is from when I brayered the crunchy paper it left an imprint on the
brayer so I went over the tag, then I added more smoked paprika paint and
brayered over sequin waste to get a bit more texture. Blood orange (love love love)
around the edges and the Secrets stamp is from ELB01.
Talking of that stamp set I am taking a class with
Lin Brown on Saturday,
I'm so excited, I feel I have come so far compared to last years
Artsycrafts and I can't wait to learn more about layering and maybe start
loving the crackle lol. I'm taking the Secret Garden class which I fell
in love with when I saw it last year. It's really weird, I have only just last week
finished one of the projects from the Artsycrafts, I'm hoping to finish the other two
over the next few weeks. Why wait a year? I just felt like it was out of
my league and I wanted to practice to make sure I got it right :-)
Right I am off, I am so sorry for going on and on and on, but I am so loving everything I'm doing and playing in craft. Shame it's accounting season and my work schedule is ridiculous for the next two weeks, but then it's all done lol and I will be able to spend more time crafting :-). I have to admit though I'm already half way through doing another creation from Paperartsy this week, so inspiring :-)
ok ok ok I'm going, I shall stop the waffle lol. Happy Crafting :-) Hugs Kezzy xxx
