Bloomin' Marvelous

Hi all, hope your day is going well, I'm in the middle of accounting work, so just thought I would take a 5 minute break to pop on here and show you a tag I did for Dragons Tag it on which is Face, Pink and Fabric.  I would also like to add my entry to Allsorts Challenge which is Anything but a card.
I have decided that this week is a playing week and trying new techniques :-).  The following technique I learned from Tammy Tutterow who has an amazing blog and does a Tuesday tutorial each week.  So a bit thank you to Tammy :-)

Pop on over to Tammy's Blog (above) and see how
to do this :-)  I have to admit I'm rather chuffed how it turned out :-)

they do have fantastic challenges but they are a challenge lol.
I have been doing this on and off for over a week, but each time I came
up with a little bit of something new and now I am really pleased with it.

Fabric bag with Fresco paints

Hi all, it's time for our new challenge over at That Craft Place Challenge Blog and I have made a special bag for Lisa who owns the shop.  I have to admit I'm not over happy with it, I had planned everything out but then one sprig went in the wrong place and I ended up having to change the plan and go for a complete coverage of flowers, I do like the busy flower papers you can get but I'm not sure I have managed to achieve it.  It was all done with stamps, Fresco paint and some pearlescent medium.  It took hours to do as I also did a lot of masking but I love the fact that it is bright and colourful.
I would like to enter my bag into the following challenges -
Simon Says Stamp and Show - colour (I have took a picture at the bottom to show all the dried paint left, it really looks lovely and colourful lol)
Frilly and Funky Challenge  - upcycle for Earth day

Right I shall be off, recipe is below :-)  Hope you all have a fantastic crafty sunday, I'm planning on a bit of ironing and then some more playing as I have a few unfinished projects still.
Lots of hugs
Kezzy xxxxx

Paperartsy Inspiration - Flowers

Hi all, late as usual lol, I'm here to show my entry into the challenge over at Paperartsy and wow we have been mega treated this week, the designers have been Suzanne CzosekJo Firth-YoungLinda Brown and Sara Naumann.
I used an old canvas board that already had ink on it (picture below) and added some die cuts I had hanging around and a leave mask with grunge paste (amazing stuff).  Fresco is so good that I was able to cover the board with two coats of snowflake and all the colours disappeared.  Then I did the background with Fresco paints iced blue, sky and baltic blue. I made some stalks from fibres and wire and toned down the wire with some south pacific fresco.  I stamped the garden growth from HP1009 with south pacific then archival jet black inkpad. I die cut grunge flower 1 and 2 from scrunched crackly paper then painted it with butternut, smoked paprika and brown shed fresco paint.  The I stamped the flowers and leaves from ELB01 the flowers with the fresco paint above on black card and leaves guacamole and hyde park.  Cut them all out and added together.  The I stamped the sentiment from Flora and Fauna 6 with the fresco and stamped on black card and back with crackly paper.  I don't have treasure gold so I mixed inka gold pearlescent with smoked paprika and brown shed fresco paint and added highlights to all the raised areas and some other areas.  Next I added some buttons :-)

Eeek got to go or I will miss the deadline.  See you later hugs Kezzy :-) xxxxx

WOYWW 203

Hi, late again, it's still Wednesday just!!! which means it's time for What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday hosted by the amazing Julia. I'm writing this up thinking, oops need to photograph the candy, I keep forgetting, I have everything now, lots of lovely stamps, a canvas, some paints, crackle medium.  I am going to pop it on my calendar so I won't forget next week :-).  My poor blog is only been updated twice again this week, it's because I keep taking on bigger projects, over the next week if I get them finished I will be able to pop them on, then I think I need some tag time to update my blog lol.  The art last week ended up in the bin and the one on my desk at the moment is heading that way, I'm stuck with it and it's just sat there last night and tonight with me escaping to watch TV, I shall have to make the decision tomorrow if to make it bin fodder, shame really, I like the background lol.

I won this from the Craft Barn facebook page :-)

The flowers in orange are just scrap paper lol, I was
trying to work out placement :-)

A few other projects on the go :-)

Right that's it from me and my messy desk (I actually cleaned up as well!!!). Hope you all have a wonderful crafty week.  Lots of hugs :-) Kezzy xxx

Paperartsy Inspiration Journal

Hi all, over at Paperartsy the designer this week has been Linda Cain who has done some amazing creations one of them an art journal.  I took the plunge and opened my new art journal I have had for two years lol. Paperartsy are giving us an amazing treat this year with designers each week and to be honest I don't think it will go longer then that as the expense must be massive, each week two prizes and of course each designer gets loads of products to play with.  I wanted my art journal first page to show how much these designers have made my art flourish and bloom and I am at last learning to find my own style.  This journal isn't finished as I shall add more designers through the year and maybe more stamping and doodles.  All of it was created with Paperartsy fresco paints and stamps with archival and a sparkly spray in some areas.  Better hurry as the challenge finishes soon EEK.

Right I better get off and submit, when I have sorted the desk and floor of products I used I will pop on with a recipe lol.
Happy Crafting

WOYWW 202

Hi all, it's Wednesday (just) which means it's time for What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday where everyone shows their crafty stash :-).  Mine is a complete mess, it certainly looks like I'm busy but to be honest I got a lot of bits out to try and inspire me to do something.  Alas it didn't work until this evening, I reckon Mojo went on holiday when he saw I was doing end of year payroll accounts and the horrible pain in the neck RTI which as always Mr Inland Revenue has put on us accountants desk to make their job easier and our life hell!!! LOL ok so it's not too bad, now that I have completed it this afternoon lol lol
So I'm feeling a lot more relaxed this evening, I do need to apologise as I didn't visit many last week, actually I have loads to catch up on now I'm finished that episode, shame the next big thing starts next week, the dreaded end of year accounts, luckily I have until end of May so more breathing space lol. By the way I meant to mention that a last I have most of the candy ready and shall pop it up next week :-) I was hoping to do it this week but I was so busy with work I completely forgot :-(

I was really inspired by Hels Sheridan who has
been demonstrating the melt pot on create and craft.
I got all my bits out, I had a little bit of a play as I was clearing the
old UTEE out of the pan but that was it, most of it has been
sitting there unloved.  Now I have some time over the next few
days hopefully I shall have lots of fun and inspiration to play.

I did start this evening working on a project for the Paperartsy challenge.
I would say to anyone if you have paperartsy products then
please go and have a go or even just read up on the amazing
designers they have each week. The current designers are on their last
section :-( and in a couple of weeks we will have four more designers :-).
It really has taken my craft to another level and each week there
are two random draws for who have entered, I won a couple of weeks
ago and one 3 pots of fresco paint which are awesome :-)

Right I better be off, I have yet again wrote an essay when really you only want a good nosy at my pictures lol.  Thank you for having a nose lol.  Happy Woyww :-) Hugs Kezzy xxx

Army HQ - Child Challenge

Hi all, it's time for a new challenge over at That Craft Place Challenge Blog and this fortnight the challenge is Child's Play and we are being sponsored by the gorgeous Saturated Canary.  The DT were extremely lucky as we all received our own choice of digi stamps from Saturated Canary and I chose The General which is a cool kid playing army in which reminds me of my Son.  He is now 14 but still loves his army stuff and I made a plaque to go on the wall next to his Army Cadet certificates.  I would like to enter my project into the Saturated Canary Challenge Blog and the challenge is Anything Goes :-)

I painted the wooden base white, then mixed some fresco acrylic
paints in green, dark brown, light brown and cream and painted
two coats of camouflage, it actually took quite a while
especially as my first attempt (last picture) I loved but didn't
like what I did with the image so I used the other side lol.
I coloured up the image with promarkers (details of the ones
I used in recipe at end of post) and cut him out.  I stamped on tissue paper
and glued the army vehicles on the background.  I used
shrink plastic to make some charms to hang of the para cord which
my son gave me.
The chipboard letters were also painted :-)

I took a picture of my sons cadet uniform for inspiration :-)

My first attempt which I love the background but I coloured
the image onto tissue paper and coloured it with promarkers on the back.
I wanted him to sort of blend into the background but didn't actually
like it in the end :-)

Don't forget to pop on over and see the other DT's creations and don't forget you can also enter on facebook.  Hope everyone has a crafty Sunday, Happy Crafting :-)
Hugs  Kezzy xxxxx

Paperartsy - ATC splat block with Fresco Paints!!!!

Hi all, just popping on to show you what I have done for the Paperartsy Inspiration Challenge and this week the designer is the amazing Helen Chilton.  She has been showing us lots of splatting with distress stains and doodling with white pen, she made a gorgeous picture block that can hold pictures or ATC's.
I decided to have a go, but I replaced the distress stains with Fresco Paints, yep you heard right, I cleaned out a splatter bottle and watered down the fresco paint and voila it worked.  I have to admit I wasn't sure it would but yet again Fresco has surprised me lol, everything I chuck at it, it always works :-)

These are the bottles I used, I poured the stain that was in there into a spare bottle and gave it a good clean out, then put a small amount of water in the bottle and then smoked paprika Fresco paint and Beach hut in the other (the link takes you to the Paperartsy shop to the fresco section).  I did do random tests on paper first before I used it on my project.  To make the beach hut slightly darker I added a hint of inky pool :-)

The rest was following Helen's tutorial apart from the stamps etc.  All the stamps I used are at the bottom.  On the block I had painted my houses in london bus fresco paint twice, I found I lost some of the detail of the stamped image, not much as this colour is translucent, so I went around in black pen.  On the ATC I drew around my stamp, painted the red then stamped on top which I liked a lot better :-)

Lots of close ups :-)

Initially all the way through I kept thinking I'm going to end up putting it in the bin, but in the end I quite like it, it's certainly quirky and unique lol.
Happy Crafting :-)
Hugs Kezzy xxxxx

WOYWW 201

Hi all, yep I'm late lol, late for what you may ask, well of course it's Wednesday which means it's time for the amazing What's on your Workdesk Wednesday hosted by the awesome Julia.  I have 3 desks I have been working on today lol, been spreading myself around the house!!!!  Also next week I shall finally have my blogversery lol.  Think I'm going to split it into two, well I think, not sure.

I wanted a paper mache torso for a challenge, so
I add a bought decorated pot one, so I took it a part to
start making my own.  My the end of the day I have now 6 layers,
think I'm going for 9 layers leaving it for a few days to dry out
and then cut up the side, take pot one out, then do another 3 layers.
If anyone knows or can help if thats right I would appreciate it lol.
The stuff in the plastic tub is flour and water that has been cooked
for the paper mache.  Nice cuppa there, I am addicted to tea and
can drink up to 25 cups a day!!!!!
Some wood blocks and wood sign had a white base coat on it :-)

Upstairs, you can see I have bought the wood etc upstairs lol,
I have paints out ready for the block I was about to work on and
paints for the sign for a DT project on Sunday.  A Tilda card
half made to the left :-)

As you can see the wood block by late this evening has been
decorated.  I was doing splats so I had my trusty box out, mind
you most of the paint is up my arm lol

I shall be popping the ATC block on tomorrow for the paperartsy challenge.  Hope your all having a fantastic crafty week.
Happy Woyww :-)

Paperartsy Inspiration - Fresco with shrink plastic and perfect pearls!!!!

Hi all, I have spent the last few days enjoying playing around for the Paperartsy Inspiration Challenge and this week the designer is Michelle Webb and she is amazing.  Her first inspiration this week is a tag using Fresco paint and perfect pearls. I don't use perfect pearls much and so I decided to take my time and have fun, problem is I completely went off slightly doing my own thing lol.  Did you know you can use fresco paint with shrink plastic?  It becomes all crackly when shrunk and has loads of texture.  Also Fresco paints look fab on black card and looks great mixed with perfect pearls lol.

So here goes for pictures galore lol, my tag has a hidden background almost, as I used perfect pearls as well as the paint and inkpads which mean that when you look one way it looks like a typical background the other way it pops lol

I used Fresco paint Eggplant, Lilac and both mixed
together and blended over the card, I next
stamped the flower from ELB01 onto black card, while
that dried I stamped the script from HP1006 in versamark
over the tag and then used perfect pearls turquoise over it.
I then stamped the script and swirl from above stamp set in
archival jet black and eggplant.  I stamped the leaf in
versamark and added the perfect pearls and then the bubbles from
JOFY09 all over the rest of the tag.  I decided I wanted the
leaves to pop more so I stamped it with beach hut and cosmic shimmer mica
powder and stamped this over the original leaves.  As
it is it's slightly offset  which means when you see
the mica it looks shaded, happy accident.

The flower I used a versamark pen and then again with
perfect pearls and then added micro beads. The hanging flower
was shrink plastic stamped with versamark and then two different perfect
pearls and then glossy accents.  The words I mixed eggplant, lilac and pearl,
then beach hut with pearl and stamped with a mix of colours on the stamp.
Below I show the edging and paints with shrink plastic :-)

Close up lots of layers

More layers, plus you can see the leaves better.
The edging was a mix of eggplant and lilac paint then emboss it dabber painted over the
top in areas and then UTEE tropic violet dipped in areas.

Close up :-) I painted the chain with the same mix of paints

Now I tested the UTEE violet on the cardstock first and
it turned green as it's a cosmic shimmer on.  So I tried
painting over the top and then re embossing and where
the embossing powder is on top of the paint it turns a gorgeous lilac,
this is what I did on the side of the tag :-)
Fresco paint stamped on black shrink plastic top left, how cool
is that texture, I then added satin glaze on top, the flower on the
top right is like the one on the tag but has satin glaze instead of glossy
accents and the button is fresco paint dabbed on a piece of
black shrink plastic, then UTEE clear on top, the paint reacts
to the heat of UTEE and wow have you seen the texture, it's
amazing.  I think I'm going to do a form of background with the paints
and then in areas add the UTEE, and also if you add the crackle in the
other areas plus texture paste wow it should look fab :-)

Right I better be off, I bet your all bored now lol lol.  Happy Crafting :-) Hugs Kezzy xxx

WOYWW 200

Hi all, it's Wednesday and that can only mean one thing!!!! it's time for my weekly addiction over at What's on your workdesk Wednesday where all us crafter's show our crafty mess desk lol, and the famous hostess that has made all our Wednesday's extra special for a few years now is Julia :-). I'm really sorry I didn't get to visit many last week, with mum being in hospital, the good news she is out, we were gobsmacked when we found out that the infection she had was pneaumonia infection.  I think most people are really strong in a crisis but at some point when the event is done, everything seems to get on top of them, that was me today lol, I went to mums to see how she is (most days) and I just sobbed lol.  Fine now, I think it was because mum was giving me a huge hug and I just blubbered :-)

Not much has been happening crafty wise most of the week, but now just starting to get messy again and this was my desk this morning from last nights play (almost finished tag now so shall pop it on here tomorrow) :-)

I can't believe how I'm slowly managing to sort
all my bits and bobs out, still loads to go but this desk
is really starting to look clean and workable.  I would like
this to be my neat area for using fabric, doing cute cards after
colouring them downstairs etc.
I have now got my home for my promarkers in the dining room,
it's great as I have the dining room table in there and its great to be
able to move them onto the table and spread out, also they are
near when I sofa craft.  I'm in the middle of trying loads of colour
combinations out :-)

I started this tag last night and I am really enjoying just playing,
I have this week off and the kids are out with mates etc
so I have been doing lots of sorting and playing. The tag
you see is using fresco paints and perfect pearls.  You can just see the
tag from last week top right, still need to finish it off.  The paper
on top is glimmer mists and cosmic sprays on water colour paper
then covered in cling film, which I am planning on adding bits to the tag :-)
It wasn't dry last night so started something else lol.

Right I better be off, wasn't planning on an essay today lol, I do tend to never shut up lol but I do try and keep it brief!!!!!  I'm off to catch up with visiting, if everything stays peaceful I should get to enjoy lots of noseying around other desks lol.
Happy Woyww :-)
Hugs Kezzy xxxxx
