Mojo Monthly and Gingersnap twinchie swap

Hi all, this month over at Mojo Monthly the challenge this month was vintage, now I haven't really done vintage before and this month I did a vintage swap which I also wanted to add to mojo monthly but I enjoyed it so much I had a go at doing a vintage canvas so now I am able to put both through.  The swap was done with UK members of Gingersnap Creations, it was the first time I had ever done a twinchie, I hadn't ever done an inchie lol. So tonight I'm showing the canvas first than the twinchies and the swaps I received back.

I based my canvas on corsets and how they have been in fashion through the centuries, I really enjoyed doing this, but it did take a few days to complete and it doesn't look anything like I had in mind in the beginning.  I painted the canvas first with fresco paint, then stamped then painted with water down fresco paint.  I had seen somewhere the bird cage used as a skirt but where I don't know, I think it could have been when I was artsycrafts but I feel awful that I can't give credit to who gave me the inspiration.  Below are some close ups and at the end of the most is a material list.

The second project are the twinchies, I'm afraid I can't find where I put the material list for the ones I did oops, I used stampboard, then stamped with versamark, coloured with distress inks and then embellished with  crafty individuals glossy paper sheets (life's journey 1) and some TH fragments.  Below are the twinchies that I did for the swap .....................

And below are the stunning swaps I received, I have also added there blogs underneath.

I shall go top left to right, and then below left to right. Suze Bain, Annette GoatlyLaura LiddellAlexa Noble,    ValeriePetra.

Right such a long post but I'm ultra happy with my vintage month and even prouder of myself that I have done a creation that I think is worthy of mojo monthly.  Thanks for looking :-) Kezzy xxx

WOYWW 147

Hi all, again it's Wednesday and again I'm late lol, oops and a big sorry to Julia as I think I forgot to put the link on last week, if your wondering what I'm on with, trust me it's not sun stroke!!! it's Wednesday which means lots of crafters getting together to show our creative desks, so pop on over to Julia's Blog and join in with the fun.  This week I shall show pics and comment as I go along to make it quick as I have a project I want to get finished tonight for my second vintage project for mojo monthly.

A big thank you to Julia, look what I got, can't wait
to wear it when I'm away at the artsycraft event
for a whole weekend (as you can see I'm super excited lol)

Look what I got (bet your getting fed up of that lol, I was
having a look at Annie's and Jo's shop Sisters Crafty Creations
and fell in love with there crafty thingy thing (not sure what's it called lol)
and I asked if there were any other colours, they asked what type,
I sent a pic, and they took the time to find the
material and look it's gorgeous another pic below

Isn't the material yummy, I have always wanted something made in this fabric and the
pink lining matches perfect.  It's destined to live downstairs as I'm trying to learn
crochet, but it's visiting the craft room at the moment so I can stare at it lol

Dumping desk, as you can see, it can get quite messy when I'm in
project mode, mind you I did tidy some half way through lol,
notice sweets at back yummy

Almost finishing my project, I have been going through Lin's blog who
also does the artsycrafts event and I have it on my phone, I've gone
back two years now, I'm so inspired by her work so it will
be a privilege to be able to be taught by her, her blog
gave me the idea of using metal for the corset below
but I haven't the tools so I am using my parchment craft tools.

Right I shall be off, my OH has just made tea which is salad in this 21 degrees weather in March UK!!  Hope you have a fantastic crafty week. Thanks for looking :-) Kezzy xxx

Charisma Cardz Challenge Blog - Alter It

Hi all, hope all you mums had a fantastic Mother's Day and for everyone else hope you also had a fantastic crafty weekend.  I spent most of the weekend crafting yippee, some of it DT work but I also did my first altered frame.  I had bought a few frames from a charity shop for a £1 last year and haven't done anything with them, I really wanted to make mum something special as I really love her and decided to have a go at altering a frame.  I sanded the wooden frame, then painted the back and sides with dulux (last year a DIY shop near us closed and I got 14 pots at 50p each), then I slapped some modpodge on the front and stuck  down some patterned paper, then sanded lightly, then used paperartsy fresco white paint on the edges of the paper to give it a shabby chic look, then sanded again lol.  I wanted some embossing on it (I so love embossing) so I chose a crafty individuals stamp (details below), I really love this stamp for doing edging etc, I embossed using wow white, but I didn't have a suitable green so I mixed some wow clear with cosmic shimmer mica pigments and it came out gorgeous.  The end was making some mini roses using a MC die.
I would love to enter this into the Charisma Cardz who's challenge this week is Alter It.
I'm afraid the picture was a nightmare to take as I kept reflecting off it and I only finished the frame an hour before seeing mum so I didn't have much time to faff about lol lol.

Hope you all have a nice evening.  Thanks for looking :-) Kezzy xxx

Just Add Ink - Colour

Hi all, I can't believe how long it has been since I entered a challenge at Just Add Ink, I think it's because of how this year has been a bit challenging in itself lol with Shannon and her coeliac diagnosis, my back and works audit, it's just got all  too much, but now it's great to start really entering challenges again and of course I had to come back to Just Add Ink as I really really love every one of there challenges.  So this week it's a colour challenge, now I have been on a virtual stampin up thingy where I buy so much a month, so it was fantastic to have these colours in cardstock, the colours are: -

2 Sisters Challenge Blog and Digi Doodle Challenge Blog

Hi all, it's Saturday and time to show my DT card for the 2 Sisters Challenge Blog and the challenge this week is Spring, and we are being sponsored by Digi Doodle and Inked Treasures. I am also entering my card into the Digi Doodle Shop Challenge Blog which the challenge is Animals.  I have bought from Digi Doodle before and while buying one for my DT piece on Wednesday I found they had a challenge blog so I was mega chuffed.  SPRING, bright colours with promises of summer 'sigh', anyway we were given an image from Digi Doodle for this weeks card and I have used springtime bunnies hence I am able to enter my card into the shop challenge being Animals.  My card went a bit wrong on the colouring stage, I steer away from animals as I haven't tried colouring them in with promarkers or waterpaints, I get scared from the texture of fur, what a nightmare, I haven't a clue what I was doing, but my bunnies started off light brown and fluffy (in my head) and ended up after 8 applications of colour to a dark grey, I was trying to add fur texture but ended up with bunnies with measles hence the cover up lol.

As you can see very dark scary bunnies lol.  Thank you for looking :-) Kezzy xxx

WOYWW 144

Hi all woywwer's, I shall first say a big thank you to all your support and comments this week and a big sorry that I haven't managed to get back to you all.  The Ofsted Audit was huge and my part has only just finished I really thought it would be just one day, but no they go through everything for 3 whole terms all paper and financial work.  The financial bit is all done so I can breathe but I feel so sorry for the others who still have a couple of weeks to finish.  My desk is full of mess lol, I had swaps that I had to finish that I thought I had time to do until all the audit stuff popped up, so between everything I have been doing bits of crafting as well.  They went off earlier today (Tuesday) but spent the rest of today working as everything is now behind, I have just finished for the day and it's 10.10pm, so I have took pics and scheduling this.  By the end of the week all should be back to normal, I actually work part time!!! so when I catch up I can have some days off to make up for the hours I have done, so lots and lots and lots of crafty play lol.
Before I go I shall quickly tell you this, the other day when I was in the office a employee came to me, and asked me what lol was, I thought she made of heard it from a child, but I found out that when I signed her wage book I also put lol, she asked me if I agreed to what she was asking DOH!!! I meant to put yes but ended up putting lol, she saw the funny side of it, she knew what it meant but was teasing me, I was mortified.

2 Sisters Challenge Blog - 1 image, 2 patterned papers and 3 embellishments

Hi all, it's Saturday and over at 2 Sisters Challenge Blog the challenge this week is 1 image, 2 patterned papers and 3 embellishments and this week we are sponsored by Stitchy Bear Stamps.  This week had been busy for me so I hadn't much time to do my card, so I did a simple card with the image delphinium that we were provided with.

I printed the image onto patterned paper (which I'm cheating slightly and not counting lol) and coloured them with whisper brush pens, the problem was the paper had a slight coating so it gave a washy type feel so I went with it and distressed around the oval and added water and pen in the same colours.  The rest was 2 patterned papers simply cut, ribbon and 3 gems on the right side.  I haven't put a sentiment on as I'm not sure if I will use it as a thank you or a hello how you doing type of card.
Why don't you pop on over to the challenge blog and see what the other DT been up too and then have a go at the challenge.
Thanks for looking :-) Kezzy xxx
